Whites dfx or whites mxt pro

I sold my MXT Pro to a buddy who wouldnt hunt with anything else for a long time. You didnt say what size coil you would have but I sometimes wish i had it back cuz it was one of the last machines out with a standard concentric coil and a large one hits deeper if the trash isnt too bad. But...

The Metal detector that was no.1

TVR put it best but in terms of sheer #s of goodies the XP Deus. The CTX really good too and hey I still miss my old analog Whites Coinmaster 6000 D

ORX and the HF coil proved itself on the hill of many nails

I live in an older home and found all kinds of goodies with my CTX and thought I had it pretty much cleaned out. Ran back over it with the Deus one day where I knew there were a couple of nail piles. Had it programmed to disc out single nails so I knew there was a lot. Kept getting a faint good...

    Cleaning found change

I first soak in a bowl of DW detergent to get the outer layer of grime off. Then put in a bowl with a cover and add a bottle of peroxide. Shake every now and then. Even better put in bowl with cover and add bottle of RealLemon will look like new(dont do this on coins you want to keep will...

    4Khz luck

Good going Bob. I use 4khz all the time to check for trash but not for hunting cuz its usually the worst on EMI and in heavy trash. I think we tend to not realize how this machine can get really decent depth even by lowering the sensitivity a lot if we have to. thanks

Will we ever see a light weight CTX ?

I agree. The CTX will never be a fast machine but perhaps the term "less slow" might have been more appropriate if some of the bells and whistles were eliminated. Was wondering why you traded in your 800 which competes with my Deus for an Etrac which is an earlier FBS machine. I have a hunting...

Will we ever see a light weight CTX ?

We did IDX how a bout Angelina Jolie? Actually don't hold your breath too long. MLs still making tons on the EQ. The problem IMO is not so much weight as recovery. FBS technology is still the most innovative feature to hit the market. But most folks just don't want to pay for features...

    Early CTX Detectors

I just had to order a new rechargable battery pack(my old one stopped taking a charge after 7 years) and the new edition has a built in seal just snap it in and go. Was $130 which is less than an extra shaft.

How many miss the detecting magazines??

Dick Stout who wrote for Whites books are probably still available cheap online. Of course the machines are antiquated but not the info. One of my favorites was Dick Stouts "Coin hunting in Depth" Still have my copy.

HF vs LF on depth of high conductive target question.

Exactly. Keep in mind the HFs "bunch" your numbers more but not at issue if your doing relics. Calabash does a nice utube using the 54 for deep relics on "pitch". Way too noisy for trashy areas but great for cleaner sites. Found a rare Whitworth CSA bullet with this program. Live in LA most...

HF vs LF on depth of high conductive target question.

This is my steadfast rule. If only coin digging use the X35 at 8kfz and switch to 4 to check for trash. The 4 with boost is terribly noisy in trash so never run it. Run on 28 with the elip if wanting to look for coins and gold. Its really deep on the high conductors but begins to lose depth...

The Deus isn’t a deep detector?

Think its deep on a coin? Have hit a tiny gold baby ring and 22cal bullets at 10". The 59kfz really hits deep on the mid to low conductivity targets.

    Disconnect problem

IDX and Sube got machine back from factory yesterday. As I had suspected bad cable connector on the controller. Dan said didnt see this very often. Expensive but better than a bad computer panel. Thanks.

    Best frequency to use

You found a half dime in a modern trashy site? You must have a really low sink rate lucky stiff. I pretty much agree with Todd. For coins in trashy sites, like 8kfz with four tone breaks. Dont care for full tones. Unless I'm getting mixed tones, will employ a 8/4 switch to cut down on trash...

Where is Fisher/ Technetics and Whites ??

Sad, cut my teeth on Whites, but there are arguably too many machines out there now.

working the caps at a ballfield

You could drive yourself nuts thinking of what hidden under those caps. I once marked off a 10x10spot and dug 60 budlite caps to find a 1900 V nickel.(I dont do this often thats when TT is nice). PS mines still in shop need to call tm. paul

Best Machine for jewelry on land

You're right squirrel. Ive tested lots of family rings and I know with the CTX set on Target Trace you can screen more of the junk like slaw and some tabs. Can also set nickels and small rings which fall below nickels high. Problem with it you need to be a dedicated jewelry guy to make the...

A few micro treasures and choppers..

Bootyhound do you run multi or single when picking out small gold. I can pick the really small gold with the Deus but have to run the highest frequency which picksup everything else. thanks

This machine is making my other machines lonely!!

    I have 2 Deus's but EQ better in water and considering one for that. (not that its not super on land too}

Mode with most stable VDI Numbers

Monte, am looking at the Simplex as a backup for jewelry hunting. I know the Anfibio is one of the few machines that will "see" a coin next to iron both ways NSEW. Could you see if the Simplex might do the same? On another subject have heard Nokta may be coming out with a larger concentric...
