    Pinpoint sensitivity adjustment

I have the VX3 so there's no ratchet adjustment. I've been detecting for 7 years and have never had this problem with White's machines. But as you said, yes it's like a quick blip unless I REALLY slow my swing speed down and then I can hear the rise in pitch with pinpointing. As an example, I...

    Pinpoint sensitivity adjustment

You're right it does, but just not for the tweak I'm trying to do.

    Pinpoint sensitivity adjustment

The AM doesn't do anything. Ironic isn't it - the machine is super adjustable but you can't decrease the sensitivity with the pin pointer....:stars:

    Pinpoint sensitivity adjustment

Is there a way to adjust the pinpoint sensitivity on the V series? From my basic understanding, I thought adjusting the AM would control this. In pinpoint mode, I don't hear an audible sound until I'm practically on the target. The VCO is enabled. Once I'm inches from the target, I get a really...

    RX, All metal, Discrimination relationship

Stupid question - have to ask. I don't think I quite have the DISC SEN fully understood yet. If I want to discriminate out everything except 50 VDI +,as an example, do I have to go into the menu and uncheck the range or could DISC SEN adjust this. I guess I'm confused how the DISC SEN lowers...

RX on VX3 compared to MXT

Since I'm familiar with the MXT, can I assumed the RX numbers are the same for both machines? MXT goes to +3. VX3 goes to 15 - would this be the same as +5? Is the MXT 10 the same as the VX3 10? thanks

Why some hate and love the V3i?

That's a good point. Actually that's kind of discerning. That's one of the beauties of a simple machine like my old MXT - turn and go . I haven't received my VX3 yet, but I'm assuming you can still get alot out of it when you take it to other places. As you said, you probably aren't getting the...

WTB - Whites Spectrasound wireless headphones

    Hunting style question

I decided on the VX3. For my needs, I just don't think I'd reap all the benefits of the V3i. Maybe I'll regret it in 2 years - who knows. But for now, I think this unit will do fine. Tom - I don't know if you prefer going solo, but I'd love to go out with you some time and learn some tips with...

    Hunting style question

At this point, I've made up my mind. I'm getting the machine. It would be nice to fiddle with it before purchasing, but since nobody has one around, I figured I'd pick everyone's brain about some stuff before it arrives....

    Hunting style question

Oh yeah. Read the VX3 manual but not the V3i. No dealer in Phoenix has either model to test. One dealer might have one later next week - we'll see. I totally understand the concept of the Spectra series and have a pretty good grasp on how it works. I'm ready to fiddle with it. Regarding this...

    Hunting style question

Pretty silly question related to my upcoming purchase. With my MXT, I go to a site, adjust my notches accordingly and start hunting. I've been reading that the V3i can be adjusted to "your" hunting style. What exactly does that mean? Am I missing something here? My hunting style is just that -...

    Need for a White's V3i Classroom Forum

Considering how many people have questions about the machine, yes! Just looking back at old posts and asking more questions is really helping me. Everyone has been super helpful here.

    Why not upgrade?

So I've been using my MXT for about 5 years now and consider myself very proficient. I'm eager to upgrade, maybe a V3i. But why? Why change if I'm happy with my MXT? I figured a more advanced machine would allow me to find more targets or at least analysis them better. Of the MXT users here...

    Comparison question about VDI readings

Still have more comparison questions before my buy so I know what to expect if I drop $1500 bucks. With my MXT, which I'm pretty darn good with, good targets that are deep usually do not VDI correctly and appear to be junk. So unless you're willing to dig all the junk signals, or most of them...

    Does analysis weaken with depth?

Yeah, that's just what I was looking for. Thanks Out of curiosity, is the polar plot the three lines with the camel hump? What's the three lines that all intersect each other?

    Does analysis weaken with depth?

So I'm doing my due diligence before I buy my V3i. I came across a person who stated from his experience, the V3i plotter analysis suffered on targets deeper than 4 inches. Surface to 4" - works great VERY accurate. Anything deeper than that accuracy begins to diminish. His experience with this...

    Can't find a local V3i

I'm practically ready to pull the trigger on a unit but nobody has one in stock. We're talking Phoenix, AZ! Their reasoning is understandable. Most guys in AZ want a dedicated gold finding machine, so the V3i's just sit on the shelves. I wanted to check it out in person before I buy. Found one...

Why some hate and love the V3i?

Very interesting. Almost sounds that the V3i is made to travel or to be used for an incredibly wide range of settings and locations. I guess that's the purpose of the adjustability. So, the VX3 is similar to the V3i, but just NOT AS adjustable. From what I read, it's adjustable but not as much.
