    V3i - Ultimate coil - 12" quarter test

    Thought I would see if the V3i and ultimate coil could hit a quarter in the ground at 12". I filmed the settings and me burying it with a ruler to 12" but the camera messed up and I did not get any of that footage. I ground balanced the detector before starting. I think the depth was off...

    V3i Which to choose: Ultimate 13" or 10x12 SEF?

    I have had both and have the ultimate now. Seems like the ultimate will hit in the center and on both edges of the coil. Gets kind of confusing at times. I do not remember the 10x12 doing this. As far as depth, I believe the ultimate is a bit deeper.

    I will see what I can do but I believe the deeper the target the less accurate they will be also, especially in the ground. Will try to get to it by this weekend if no one else does. I may have time later tonight. I just got one of the new Detech ultimate coils for it and hopefully can test it...

    Went to one of my local parks and found a lot of clad but was surprised at the number of nickels. I used the V3i with the small 4x6 coil. I ran it wide open and assigned high tones to nickels and zinc pennies and above. Seems to work excellent for trashy parks.

    Hey Makro can we get a racer with notch?

    I am really liking this racer but it would suit me better if it had notch discrimination for the real trashy parks. I know there was some word about the impact but have not heard anything since.

    Took the racer to a local trashy park

    Took the racer to one of the local trashy parks. First chance I have had to try it since getting the replacement coil. Set the disc to 50 and used Di3 with a sensitivity of 70 most of the time. It did seem to pick through the trash and get some good targets. This was with the 11" stock coil...

    So why have auto tracking turned on if you have to manual ground balance after making some changes. That makes no sense to me. Even if you done a manual balance wouldn't the auto tracking over ride it in a few seconds anyway.

    You are referring to one of my videos. Even if I did not ground balance it was set to auto tracking and you can see in the video that it was tracking.

    If I am in a trashy park I will notch out 0 to +15, accept +16-+21 and then reject +22 to +49 and then accept from +50 and up.
