    Can someone help me out?

Just a heads up..let me know when you get it and I'll do a inspection check list for you to make sure all is good to go into the water. the seals maybe bad.. and the sword case after 25 plus years can show signs of leaking around the knob shafts tubes, little guys but the inside where they are...

    Building my own headphones

Those look Great! As is all of your work. :super: Another opp for water proofing the 2463's, I did several of these years ago for the excalibur. A few used them for diving but best for shallow water hunting. Fully water proof .. I now use Piezo's only since 99% of my time is spent hunting in...

Some of my beach finds from back in the day

Luckily I've been picture and video taken for most of my adult years, if not for them they would be lost memories. Even now I wish I had taken more.. Im sure if it were digital I would have.

Threshold level. I want to vent.

I did a video on this years ago (2011) for all metal hunters using the Excalibur, but after many years I do know there are times that require a bit louder threshold ..On windy days or when Ambient/outside noise is high. But you are correct, that loud threshold is covering up faint deep targets.

Seems US repair center is no longer open

I know Minelab had a Great repair center in PA and seems there was a disagreement between them and now all minelab repairs are done in Chicago. Its a shame for the PA repair center took on several month backlog of repairs from Kelly Co and turned the repair time to about two weeks, shipped to...

Has SMF reached the depth of P.I. detectors like the Infinium and Seahunter?

One variation between the excalibur and the AQ PI. The Excalibur hits larger class rings deep specially if you listen for the faint changes in the threshold, where as the AQ PI hits them much easier and louder. On small gold rings with the AQ PI, it hammers the small gold rings deep, where as...

Has SMF reached the depth of P.I. detectors like the Infinium and Seahunter?

I jump around between the five I have and the same with the AQ which I have two. I just obtained a 12 inch Sunray coil so the little 800 coil will be replaced this week and that machine will see more action. Set a year gold goal for 2023, 50 .see how that goes..

Has SMF reached the depth of P.I. detectors like the Infinium and Seahunter?

I've compared my Excalibur on raw depth on the wet sand In PP/all metal with the Sea Hunter, Sand Shark and the older Whites PI 1000/2000..and there as no compare for the excalibur is deeper. And that being said I have hunted behind the Nox 800 and 900 and the Manticore and found they are...

    Gold...sell or hold ?????

I bet your right on that one...... About the only time I check gold is when I am finding it, and that can be anytime from late March to Early Dec... and then I watch how much 1 gram of 10k is.. for that is mostly what I find. I remember years ago (2011)? 1 gram of 10k was 16 dollars, now its...

    Gold...sell or hold ?????

This chart speaks for itself, gold will go up and gold will go down but in the long term it will continue to climb.

Regarding the Lack of Finds on the Beach

Funny short story, around 2014 I lived in OC Md for a few years, Did ok on the gold. Hunted a lot.. One day I had this guy come down to the water and ask if I could find his wife's ring, he was Indian I believe. Took maybe a minute, scooped it and I said I think this is it.. before I could even...

Regarding the Lack of Finds on the Beach

I seen that over on the Maryland FB page last summer, a 29 grand family heirloom chain lost just into the water. If I remember correct the son was wearing it buggy boarding, fell off the board it it was gone.. Many looked for it.. The finder (Gary) got a 5 grand reward.. chain was 17.9 ounces of...

Working in the water at a Beach with rocky bottom

Yep, I hate them. So I stay away from them as best as possible. As I go further north the rocks get worse here and since I mostly hunt beaches which have been closed for 60 plus years seems every target is in between. I would imagine fresh drop beaches might not be to bad or as bad. Do you use a...

Regarding the Lack of Finds on the Beach

Yes, Bob was very young, I think he was 46? and Frank passed in 2008 I think. Frank lived very close to me up around Marley Station Mall. I do have several amazing stories of their adventures, one was Frank and Bob would come to the MARS metal detecting club meetings with a bucket of gold. My...

Regarding the Lack of Finds on the Beach

Many factors in the past 15 years has caused gold to be worn less and less. Luckily, I switched to older beaches in 2015, beaches that had 60 plus years of bathers whom I guess did not realize things fall off when you get wet? The majority of being gold wedding rings, class rings and Statius...

    Strange problem with Excalibur

Salt water leak is the problem for sure, just a matter of time before it to the point it's totally affected and things stop working. Before sending it in I would suggest a major inspection of every Mill Meter, ..........cables, control tube, battery, coil. Look for cracks in the plastic every...
