What has been your # 1 detector in years passed

Minelab Excalibur, tired several others since I started 12 years ago. I just don't like displays. New Love, 2020, Fisher Impulse AQ, No display, just audio and it fills in areas the Excalibur is weak. 12 years, 98% gold found has been using the Excalibur, 12 years to date 795 Gold rings. 42 Misc...

    Seahunter v CTX

Experience with a machine is a big factor. Me I would prefer the CTX over the Seahunter. When there is just a inch or so difference in depth I prefer a Discrimination machine. I have used both. I would label the Nox over the CTX on that subject, but if your going deep in the saltwater the...

    EXCALIBUR II & PINPOINT

No doubt deeper but it's not going to be a signal that jumps out and says I'm here. To show.........here is a video of PP and disc with a 800 coil. As you can see PP is about 3 inch's more..and listen how faint.

looking for info on fisher water machine the 1280 aqua

I would look around for a deal on the CZ20/21. It would be more equal to the excalibur performance wise. Maybe TVR will chime in on this, he's more up to date on all three. Good Luck!

Who uses this tool in your beach recovery

I love the way many think......these are great for beach's that don't allow metal detecting.....We have spots here that allow no detecting during the summer...But with a beach rake you can go in and drag a few lines... When it comes to outsmarting and staying ahead of the competition you really...

    New saltwater Detector

I've owned a few excaliburs 12 years now, still love them. Now a Fisher AQ Limited.. owner, Love it as much as the excalibur but Its for limited spots since it's a PI....also once they get the small 8 inch coil for it out I think It will be move versatile...... I had a sea hunter several years...

    good water/dive boot

Got three sets of those... Love them, specially that Big Zipper........One set is about 7 years old, the other 4 and 3..........like calabash.. one set is two sizes bigger for the spring and fall drysuit. I hunt a lot so they have hundreds of hours on them...they do form a crack across the front...

What has been the # 1 beach & water detector

The Minelab Excalibur since 2008............ until the Fisher Impulse AQ Limited came out. Now it's about 50 / 50....As of Mid May she has 19 gold.

Another detector dies and another has an issue, but got a little gold

Good to see you came home with treasure... Shame the Cz20 went down, I know you have had it for several years. Most of the bay hunters in the area that used CZ20/21's have switched to the Nox, that's just about all you see out there now.

TARSACCI MDT 8000 & EQUINOX 800 Salt Depth Comparison

George I believe it's around 1500.oo. But If you hunt in the water I am not sure if it was meant to be a underwater machine. Maybe someone can chime in on that..

    Excal Questions

Sorry I missed your Message, still not use to the new format here. If your hunting out of the water (dry and wet sand) you may want to think about a larger coil for more coverage and a little extra depth. That being said, I swear by the stock coils..1000 and 800. I do hunt in the water mostly...

How gold settles in the water

I hunt the Chesapeake Bay, seems every beach here has different habits, due to the fact each is affect differently. Even different area's of the same beach can act different. Big or small gold rings can be just about any depth. Some I believe lie just where they were dropped and maybe sunk...
