Very nice work on the details..

Very nice work on the details..

Thank you,

I tend to be a little picky with my detectors. I do my best to keep them clean and in good shape after each use. I think in the long run being this way keeps my detectors trouble free and looking decent over all. ( There not cheap..Lol ) So I do my best to make them last a long time.

I just got the Garrett Sea Hunter so I have not used it yet. I do have a trip planned to the beach in a week or so ( busy work schedule right now). I have high hopes for it and I will report back after this trip on the performance of the detector.

I do like the set up I did with the Sea Hunter on the Anderson rod it has a great feel to it no sloppiness at all in the shaft and a better hand angle than the factory rod. With that said I think the factory rod would be better for diving with the detector which I don’t plan to do with it.

Happy Hunting,
Bill G

The sea hunter a PI unit?
I agree whole hearted on keeping my detectors in good condition & clean
Just like I do with my tools.

Update,

I also decided to perforate my solid coil covers on my Sea Hunter Mark 2 build to let any water and sand run off or through the coil covers since the coil covers for the Garrett Mono coils are solid. Hopefully by doing this It will prevent any issues that a coil cover might cause on these style coils in a beach surf hunting application. I would hate to have to remove the covers as they prevent abrasive wear to the bottom of the coils.

Note,

The yellow zip ties where added to sea the coils easier under water. Also they were added because the 8” coil cover is for the Garrett ATX Mono coil and fits just a hair loose. ( Note, Garrett don’t make a coil cover for the 8” Sea Hunters Mono coil) The Sea Hunters 8” Mono coil needs the zip ties to keep the ATX 8“ coil cover in place.

Happy Hunting,
Bill G
