My cell phone is so old it does not have an airoplane setting but when detecting on Cornish beaches no point having it on as I would not get a signal anyway:LOL::LOL:

    where is the gold ?

Posted this the other week but you can drool over my tital photo of my best find. It was an 1855 Queen Victoria Sovereign found on a local beach which I eventually sold to purchase an 800 after many years of using an SE Pro. Cannot get out at the moment as we are on lock down and the police are...

    Coil ears

Don't keep the nut very tight as I like it to be quite loose as I do a lot of detecting on rocks and it will move when I put it down for the 30 time on the day. Tried an iron infected site yesterday as I was packing up, using the slowest scan ever I was finding coins and fishing leads next to...

    39-40

Over the past couple of days I have had 39-40 signals on my 800 using beach 2 on one of my local beaches, they were very deep and I was not able to get down to them before the hole filled in again. Any ideas on what they could be. Thanks in advance

The Friend Who Finds It All

I have the same problem. A friend of mine goes out down the beach and finds Roman gold rings and a coin that the coin dealer Spinks said didn't exist and I find mostly fishing weights, hundreds of kg of the stuff but just found a gold ring last week, so things may be looking up

At last I found my old camera that takes good close ups.

It weighs 6grm and is 9kt. You could check the value from the Birmingham gold company in the UK, that is the one I use.

    Screen Protectors

This is what I use in the UK. A lot of my detecting is done near rocks so needs extra protection.

    Meter or not

After using the 800 a few times I have found that I am using display to decide what not to dig as opposed to what to dig or I would be digging loads of copper coins because one of my beaches seems to have masses of copper on it and as I am now ancient I don't get tires as soon.

    Another practice day!!

Low tide was early today but decided to give it a couple of hours, Sand has started to come back but still a couple of tracks caused by the tides, after checking across the beach with few clear signal for some reason I change to beach 2, a few £1 coins later I had a good signal and using my...

    Not my day!!

The squalls were very short about five mins so I just stopped put my detector and spade away from me until the sun came out again. On another note a person in the village about 100 yards away from our house was hit by lightning but is OK so nowhere is safe. Shall be going to the beach in a...

    Not my day!!

Thought I would go down the beach for a couple of hours yesterday for a bit more practice with my Nox. Started well with a few coins and then the heavens opened, thunder and lightning very near plus cloud bursts and hail but carried on as I was wearing my HH jacket and waders as usual but the...
