    Vintage Padlock

Very nice find. I think your padlock pre dates the 1890's by a good bit.

    Legend coils

The Detech Ultimate 13" Round DD is an excellent coil. Keep in mind that Nokta offers the LG35 coil for the Legend. It is excellent also & you can be assure it is properly matched/tuned to the Legend. While Detech makes excellent coils, they do not have access to Nokta's specific SMF...

Old Quarter, Tiny Dime and a Couple Interesting Toys

All excellent. You make the most interesting variety of finds. Thanks for posting.

    Some May Be Lost Forever?

I speculate that in the absence of a shallow hardpan layer, coins & other smaller items can remain beyond the reach of the turning plow. Anyone who has rehunted a worn out site after a Dozer has scraped 6 or more inches off can concur.

    Yesterday's short hunt

Pretty good return for only 1 hour.

    Brass part

Some sort of ratchet hub. Being brass is a bit unusual, so a special purpose part. That has some age & wear on it. Neat find.

    VS 1,17

Since I have 2 Legends, I have tested each update since V 1.07. Each one has brought real gains in performance. Since V1.15, the Legend is certainly full feature wise & the user interface is over taxed, but I don’t think the processor is lagging.

    VS 1,17

The main change was reducing the bias of IF 0. It now is pretty much completely open now at that setting. I'm not sure how usable it will be for me. IF 1 seems best on my sites. Nice to have the added flexibility.

    Darn GOOD day

    That's some nice early finds.

Nokta Legend V1.16 Ring Find Today.

Wrap a piece of Aluminum foil wet with saliva around it. If you smell Sulfur it’s Silver.

Question on Ground Balancing a Tesoro Tejon

That contains good info for any machine, not just the Tejon.

    Nokta US repair center unresponsive

I agree but it is what it is. I just trust that Nokta is a solid company that has always done right by it's customers.

    Nokta US repair center unresponsive

I have had good luck contacting Andy by telephone, 573/270-0447, with some questions early on. He recently did a warranty coil replacement for me. No problems, but it did take awhile(several weeks) between filing the request with Nokta & being contacted by Andy on E Mail.

    Vista X shined today

Very nice Copper & other items. The Vista X is a top notch relic machine no matter how bad the ground or EMI. Once you connect with it’s language nothing will out hunt it.

Something I have never seen posted here

You fancy lid might be from a sugar caster. Not sure when granular super became available.

    Legend External Battery

I'm pretty good about keeping the internal battery sufficiently charged but have needed the auxiliary battery on several occasions. I was glad to have it so I could keep hunting. I think it helps the overall balance also.

    Istalled 1.15

Why let other people who don't even hunt with you decide what works better? Why not give it a fair trial & decide for yourself what works best for you on your sites?

    One of my hobbies

Those are really nice. What is the average building scale? I enjoyed my time as a HO scale Railroad modeler.
