Thoughts from those who have the Deus 2 9.5 HF coil

It’s a $400 coil that is actually the detector. The remote and WS6 are just controllers. If It was just a coil with no circuit boards, batteries or other tech, I agree it would not be feasible at $400. I can absolutely guarantee you Woodbutcher that the HF2 coil running at 89 kHz max multi...

White's Spectra V3i being resurrected by Garrett?

Added a 6 minute target ID comparison video of the VX3 vs VX9 in high iron mineralization in the Main Comparison section.

Whites VX3 Garrett Vortex VX9 Target ID Accuracy Video

I see a lot of requests for Garrett to step up and do a remake of some of the detectors that they acquired from their purchase of White's Metal Detectors especially the V series. Some have speculated that the Vortex V series is just that, a reimagining of the Whites V series. Personally, I...

Anyone try 3.04 with 11" coil on the beach and in the water?

I haven’t been able to run any beta 3 software version at a saltwater beach with any of the coils. I have run all of the public and private beta versions with FMF coils and the HF2 coil on high iron mineralized ground with some salt content. Beta 3.04 was pretty good. Beta 3.08 was released to...

White's Spectra V3i being resurrected by Garrett?

For me and the places I hunt, ground conditions are the most important factor and can make a great detector like the Whites V series look silly and a budget detector like a Minelab Vanquish 340 seem like it has some kind of magic formula. If you get to hunt where the ground is milder there may...

White's Spectra V3i being resurrected by Garrett?

None other than Carl Moreland who was the Engineering Manager for the White's V series development, has proven that Minelab Multi IQ and the Legend/Score SMF tech are transmitting three separate frequencies in their SMF tech. Not a base frequency with harmonics, but three separate frequencies.

White's Spectra V3i being resurrected by Garrett?

I have owned a V3i and I own a 2017 VX3 with the newer model D2 coil. I regularly check that D2 coil for resistance and overload. It is working properly. I also have access to our club's Vortex VX9 running the latest software. As far as which one I like the most. Hands down the Whites V series...

gold Monster 2000- dual PI and multi freq announced

There are some really interesting and positive reports about the Goldmonster 2000 over on Detector Prospector Forum using it for what it was designed to do which is sub gram weight gold prospecting with the 5” and 10x5” coils on hot ground. Any other potential uses for the GM 2000 are pure...

    XP Deus 2 HF2 software

HF2 has Beta software for a reason. Each new Beta version has some small adjustments. No VLF metal detector has ever had frequencies this high either with selectable single frequencies or simultaneous multi frequencies. XP want to get it as right as possible when they release an official...

    Been Thinking About A Deus....

No XY screen, only one custom program per factory program and you can’t put saved programs right next to each other like you can on the remote, WS6 is not waterproof, no external speaker on WS6, and no backlight like you mentioned. Could be more that I’m forgetting.

The New Garrett VORTEX VX9 Just Got A Whole Lot Better!

I am not assured of anything, especially that Garrett's engineers are dissecting the best of Whites intellectual property in order to incorporate it into a future Garrett detector. It's possible but I am not betting on it. Keeping that intellectual property out of the hands of Asian copy cat...

gold Monster 2000- dual PI and multi freq announced

Price range was just released a few hours ago. Between $1500 and $1700 US. Whether that is totally accurate ???

gold Monster 2000- dual PI and multi freq announced

If the pulse induction part of the Goldmonster 2000 was mostly on the transmit side of the detector with VLF SMF tech just helping with the receive side signal processing, it might be an improvement over both current PIs and detectors like the Sov. That is not what is happening with the...

gold Monster 2000- dual PI and multi freq announced

Goldmonster 1000 is still in production and MSRP currently is $849 US. Goldmonster 2000 will have to cost more.

gold Monster 2000- dual PI and multi freq announced

October 2025 at the earliest according to the Minelab rep I talked to at a recent national metal detecting hunt where Minelab USA had a demo tent. She doesn't expect to even get one for demo until at least September. It is primarily a gold prospecting detector. Whether it will work well on a...

The New Garrett VORTEX VX9 Just Got A Whole Lot Better!

I have used the Vortex VX9, tested it for over a week. I own a Whites VX3 and have owned the V3i and DFX, all of the MXT models including the MX5 and MX7, I own a Whites Goldmaster 24k and I have owned the Whites TDI and TDI SL. It's a fact that Garrett released their own version of the Whites...

    Frequency question

With Deus 2, you can see what the frequency changes to using the two selectable single frequency programs Mono and Fast 40. When you do a frequency shift using those two programs, the exact frequency will be shown. XP does not show the exact frequency being used for the Max frequency when you...

    Manticore loves iron

This is something I use sometimes to help me decide to dig or not. It might give you another diagnostic option. I switch to All Terrain High Conductors to investigate a questionable target that could be a piece of high tone falsing iron. I have ATHC setup with the same 5 tone audio as All...

    Manticore loves iron

I use All Terrain General with a similar setup to what you described. I did have to turn up the ferrous tone volume a lot to be able to hear it clearly. The M105 headphones have a more lively sound quality than the previous model that came with the 600/800 but at least to my ears, they still...
