This must be the new technology that Minelab is coming out with.

This would be amazing on beaches.

I need to get a demo on one

October 2025 at the earliest according to the Minelab rep I talked to at a recent national metal detecting hunt where Minelab USA had a demo tent. She doesn't expect to even get one for demo until at least September.

It is primarily a gold prospecting detector.

Whether it will work well on a saltwater beach? Maybe. Whether it will work in saltwater, I wouldn't try it since it's not waterproof.

It will come with the same coils as the Goldmonster 1000, a 5" round and a 10X6" elliptical. No bigger coils available.

It will have some kind of digital target ID which is a big improvement over the original Goldmonster 1000.

The PI part supposedly is part of the return signal processing.

The transmit side will operate with Multi IQ, Minelab's simultaneous multi frequency VLF tech similar to the Minealb Vanquish, X-Terra Elite, Equinox and Manticore

If I was a full time saltwater beach and surf hunter I would look elsewhere. The X-Terra Elite, Equinox 700/900 and Manticore would be way better Minelab beach options since they are waterproof rated and use the same transmit tech as the Goldmonster 2000. The Nokta Legend and Score models and Deus 2 would be better options too.

Nokta should be releasing an actual PI specifically made for beach hunting soon that is waterproof. Knowing them, it will be good.

Goldmonster 1000 is still in production and MSRP currently is $849 US. Goldmonster 2000 will have to cost more.

Have been waiting for a PI unit that discriminates out the iron. TID is even better. I use a Sovereign for over 20 years. wasnt water-proof I only hunt wet sand.
Atlantic is too rough to water hunt...plus too many sharks !!!!! :) :) :) :)

Thx for info.

If the pulse induction part of the Goldmonster 2000 was mostly on the transmit side of the detector with VLF SMF tech just helping with the receive side signal processing, it might be an improvement over both current PIs and detectors like the Sov. That is not what is happening with the Goldmonster 2000.

Reports from Aussie Goldmonster 2000 gold prospecting testers have been very positive. I just don't see this detector being an improvement over any currently produced SMF VLF for salt and black sand higher frequency detecting.

Most of all, the Goldmonster 2000 is definitely NOT a pulse induction detector no matter what hype or misinformation is being repeated on the internet. It's an SMF mostly with some receive side PI hybrid tech that is similar to the Sovereign but running at much higher frequencies

Price range was just released a few hours ago. Between $1500 and $1700 US. Whether that is totally accurate ???

Jeff, In your opinion could the new Nokta, Dilek eluded too, be the same hybrid tech ? Just thinking out loud. Without some ground breaking technology I have to think i'm done spending on another dressed up but not much different machine.

I hunt small gold and I’m not sold yet. I can tell you the GM 1000 is as good as I’ve used. Followed closely by the manticore, gold bug 2 and the equinox 800 with 6” coil.

There are some really interesting and positive reports about the Goldmonster 2000 over on Detector Prospector Forum using it for what it was designed to do which is sub gram weight gold prospecting with the 5” and 10x5” coils on hot ground. Any other potential uses for the GM 2000 are pure speculation.

I have next to zero idea what the detector is that Dilek referenced at the recent Spring Into Summer event in Iowa??? back in June other than she was not talking about a pulse induction detector or a hybrid VLF/PI detector. There have been plenty of rumors about an eventual successor to the Legend.

Thanks for the response. Good luck

Heard some good positive things on this thing here in Oz. Going deeper on the sub'is than other VLFs in bad hot ground. Apparently its killer within the first 4 inches. According to reliable reports its more than just an ole ho hum VLF or SMF. Jonathon Porter here in OZ is giving it pretty glowing reports above just a normal release and its been a while since I have read such positive feedback on a newy by him. Reckon I'll get one. 😁
Heard there are issues with the Nokta PI so im not holding my breath and waiting on that one.
