Can I still find a coil

The cable I used which you can get from McMaster Carr.. Make sure it is .26 to .24 inches in dia

Can I still find a coil

If your not using it near water that cover should be fine. But keeping it 100% water proof could be a issue. I would give it a new cable, sealing the area where the coil wire goes into the coil is very important. And really not that hard. I think Mel Parkers pictures explain how the best. 1...

Be careful using discrimination with Manticore on the beach!

The goods of getting top know your beaches and what to do when confronted with harsh conditions. Thanks for sharing! Looks like red with black sand viens o_O, tuff hunting that stuff I'm sure with anything except a PI?..... I only have one spot with the (Ironish?) redish sand, very little...

    Noisy Sov in all-metal Pin-Point!!

I would say EMI also but it should do the same in Disc mode. And with a bad coil you get about the same results, in PP n Disc modes. Let us know once you get into a different area what happens.

    Goodbye PI.

Yes, the hunting here is a totally different type of , than down the Carolinas. And something I have cut way back on the last few years. I agree on the crusty silver rings, most rarely survive the Chesapeake bay brackish waters. Silver coins do much better and are a sure sign gold can be...

    Goodbye PI.

Why I use a PI at a few beaches, .. A Pi in the right location can be "Rewarding" or as Nauti said.. "A medieval torture device" It's up to the hunter to make a solid decision based on "past target history" on what to use. And not hunt the place for years in hope of.. Notice the amount of trash...

    Goodbye PI.

I can imagine how you feel Nauti, I have several spots I'm sure I would be coming out of there with nothing but Iron if I took my PI in.... And with the lightweight / performance of the new VLF's I would say for sure they would be the way to go at those beaches. Now me, I have a few spots I...

    Excal does good !!!

Eleven Gold is Great! And the excalibur is a excellent choice for hunting in the water!

Equinox 900 on wet sand or in saltwater vs. others

No problem depth wise beating the 800 or 900 "in saltwater" using the excalibur in all metal, not sure about in the wet or dry sand or the discrimination mode, which I feel is the weak point of the excal. The AQ eats the excalibur by 5 to 6 inches, on gold. On silver the excalibur does fairly...

Largest coil for Original Excalibur 1000 BBS Tech

One thing about big coils I never liked, once you hit the saltwater you have to crank the sensitivity down, so much that you lose depth and at some point so much using a 10 inch can be deeper and more stable. On the open beach I found the ULT 13 to be the deepest but as soon as the saltwater...

Old Post but those are great targets! Looks like you have the perfect spot! I'm betting there is some old gold in there some where! Have you made it back yet?

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

Yes, Happy Birthday buddy! That cart is a life saver, I have a few spots I have a mile walk..sure makes the walk back easier. And I plan on using weights this fall with my drysuit and it will make carrying them easy.

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

Not killing it this year for sure, been out about 20 times now with 4 gold. Silver count is way down also.. about 13. Hunting here...Silver is a great indicator that gold is near. 1950 10k Class ring 5.6 grams, 1899 V Nickel, ND Buff and 1919 Buffalo.. Kool lead toy from the 1920's? Crusty...

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

When someone hunts the Chesapeake bay and they post their silver I can fairly much tell what part of the bay they are hunting. By the condition of their silver. Top (North Bay) ..Baltimore area ..Annapolis area, than for me the southern area around Saint Mary's county. Each has a distinct...

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

That's amazing on the old silvers, I only have one or two spots that give that stuff up and it's in ruff shape if I do.

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

You got a lot of really old silvers too! Most silvers here are from the 1930's up.. I did have a couple years of 300 plus silvers but that has really dropped off but,.... if I am finding silver ... there is gold in the mix, one spot .. It was really rare to find silver and I was finding...

OBN, What is the gold count this year??

I agree, once the walk in spots go dry the boat and ski open up some many other possibilities.

    Why no Fisher Impulse forum?

I tested several AQ's over the last three years, average is 3 hours and 15 minutes with the factory stock battery. Luckily, I jumped on the problem when I got mine and came up with a couple designs for alternatives. One is 5.5 and the other is 11 hours. I did make a few different ones testing...
