    XP ORX Controller

I have an XP ORX Controller that is less than a year old. It was dropped and the LCD connection inside snapped. So I had the LCD replaced by a friend who is a degreed electronics expert, and it works fine. Since the repairs were not done at the factory, the item is probably out of warranty. So...

WTB: Deus HF 9" Elliptical Coil

Looking... Let me know if you have one for sale. Cash, or if interested, I have an ORX controller I could trade. I replaced the LCD and it works fine but probably out of warranty.

    Deus controller old vs. new

Is there any difference between one of the older Deus controllers vs. the newer ones? The new one appears to have some slight cosmetic differences, but I assume the innards are the same, correct?

    Xp and Europe’s Longtime labeling...

Kudos to XP for making a product that is not only high-performing but also durable and reliable, and to this duo of entrepreneurs.

Broken ORX LCD - Any hope?

My brother didn't trust this unit, so he bought another control box. So I paired this one with the X35 coil I use with my Deus. Now I have an ORX to use as a backup. I'll probably just use it with wired headphones since I don't want to shell out a hundo for the WSaudio phones.

Broken ORX LCD - Any hope?

Update... I bought an LCD replacement for about $40 and a friend was able to get it soldered in place. I now have a functioning ORX control box.

Broken ORX LCD - Any hope?

Beyond my skill unfortunately. I ended up just buying a new control box for the ORX. I still have the old one and may try installing a new LCD screen in it. Or I may try to sell it but I have no idea what it would be worth.

    XP Deus

You'll love the Deus. It's unlike anything else out there. The software upgrades are free, and upgrading from 3.2 to 5 is a snap. I had the legacy 9" coil too, although I upgraded to the X35. That older coil is still really good, and for a newbie, it will be just fine.

Broken ORX LCD - Any hope?

We may give it a shot, or maybe just get another box. I don't want a cobbled together unit I can't trust in the field. Thanks for the input.

Broken ORX LCD - Any hope?

With the ORX, the LCD appears to be glued onto the circuit board. A whole new board is about $230 so probably just buy a new box.

I saw one of those. Any idea how difficult it is to replace?

Broken ORX LCD - Any hope?

Dropped on the pole bar floor. Now it won't even switch on. XP says not covered under warranty but to contact a local dealer to see if I can be fixed. Don't have a local dealer, so would like to see what the board thinks.

    X35 11" coil power consumption

I wanted the lower frequencies in the X35 and had no need for the higher frequencies in the HF coil. Overall I have no complaints about the X35 coil. I think it's great.

    X35 11" coil power consumption

I've found that the 9" X35 coil on the Deus does the same thing, and I don't use boost mode. However, I ran it for at least an hour and a half on zero bars and it never died.

    11" X35 or another machine?

To clarify, when I wrote, "I ended up hunting by ID instead of tone" I meant when I was using 3-tone detector or program. On the Deus, I like to bump the last tone range up to 85 or so, just so it breaks up a little bit at zinc pennies. If I'm using 4 or 5 tones, I can reserve the highest tone...
