First Outing Of The Year At A New Site

Well, you could go back and try it again after you try the other sites you mentioned… You might just locate the house site next time.🤞🤞

    Orientation of the M15 coil

Not sure if it would effect performance, but I know on the XTerras, some were flipping the 10.5” coil around for the same reason you mentioned and they seemed to work fine for them. Only drawback I see is that you may have to extend the shaft out a little more for clearance between you and the coil.

X-Terra Elite coils vs NOX coils

You are correct in the fact that the XTE ( and even the XTP) , can use all of the Equinox coils, but the coils for the XTE and XTP will not work on the Equinox. As far as to why the coils for the Equinox are much higher, I have no answer. I recall reading the Minelab musketeer advantage coils...

Hunted at a old Boy Scout camp today

Neat finds…I believe the lower slide is a “Weblos” slide. Both are in great shape too!! That bullet is a nice find too!!👍

    Any ideas?

They are tent rope tensioners, but post Civil War… if you look closely, there should be a number on them indicating the size. I found three of them around an old house a few years ago. They are old, but not Civil War era… 1880’s or after. Nice finds…. And yes… they do sound good!!

    X-terra Elite headphones and beachcombing.

That scoop will work in dry sand OK, but you’ll be better off with a long handled scoop in the surf and wet sand areas. Those rouge waves will catch you off guard while retrieving targets and a long handled scoop will give you better leverage too. As far as carrying a long handled scoop, I...

    Hikers find gold trove

That was an amazing discovery! would be interesting to know how they managed to spot or find them. I would think unless they were dropped, they would have been concealed in some way.

    X-terra Elite headphones and beachcombing.

I believe the ML-85’s do come with case, a charging cord, and a cord to connect them to your detector if the battery dies while out detecting.

    X-terra Elite headphones and beachcombing.

I may be wrong, but I do not think the ML-80 wireless headphones will work on the Xterra Elite or the Xterra Pro. They are for the Equinox 600/800/ and Vanquish metal detectors. The ML-85’s are for use with the Equinox 700/900/XTP/XTE, and I believe can be used with the Manticore also. Others...

    Received the X-terra Elite today

I’m sure you will be impressed with it. I have the XTP and have really done good with it.. that 5x8 coil nice too. I used that setup in the river last year and did very good with it.

What's the best sand scoop + handle that you'd recommend?

Sounds like you made a wise choice on a scoop! You may want to look at investing in a prospecting pick for detecting in rivers if the bottom is rocky.. I tried river hunting several times last year and did well using a prospecting pick.
