    If Fisher would make a modern High end coin / relic detector???? Would you buy and what options would it need to have ??

    I'm in agreement here except for one thing.. For me personally a waterproof unit would be perfect ( like rated to 10-15 feet ). A screen set-up like the ol'e explorer would be cool too. but not with the many sub layers it had. Finally 999.00-1299.00 is priced accordingly AHHH wishfull thinking.

    So is possible Felix that the coil of the 800 just didn't pass over the bullets, or do u think the targets were beyond the detection depth of the 800 ? Mark ( ohio )

    Well, I gotta believe you started out with thee best detector on the market in that time era, ( and for many yrs after too )... Those fbs units were just amazing period !!

    Minelabs ole FBS detectors are/were just great units to hunt with period !! I was never more confident hunting with the EXP II and knowing I didn't leave any thing good in the ground. Sure wish the body could handle a detector with that weight now...

    Finally the first hunt of the yr... after 25+yrs of doing this, I commit the biggest rookie mistake...

    decide to use the "quish 440 " to hunt a local playground. SO the detector sat in the basement over the winter and I of course turned it on to see what the battery strength was. All looked good so off I went. After about 30 minutes it shut off. I thought I must have hit the power button some...
