    Tooth Cap

That's an unusual crown-- the tech took the time to put in tertiary anatomy, which I never see anymore. Upper left molar. My hunch is pre-1960's. Usually about 12-14k, probably some platinum and copper-- but its hard to tell from your pic. An honest buyer would probably give you $110 for it...

    High Voltage Warning

I've had rechargeable batts fail. One short circuited during charging and almost caused a house fire. So with that in mind, I really don't like the etrac charging system-- charge should shut off when the battery is charged, like on the ctx. Do you have a spare? The etrac batt that takes...

    Found rifle cartridge

From the 'net: In 1942, the U.S. Air Force determined that a dim ignition tracer was warranted - one that wouldn't blind the pilot. The T10 Tracer was developed during early 1943 and identified by a dull orange tip. It had headstamps of F A 4 and F A 45 and is not hard to find if you know what...

    Gold coin!

Etrac was a solid 12 41-- pretty much rang up like a silver dollar.

No idea where I found this....

Found this... somewhere. Wasn't silver so I didn't care. When I found it, it was folded into a neat square. I promptly forgot about it. Pouch started getting heavy, dumped it all out to sort... 1904 election watch fob. Probably copper. Sadly, the Roosevelt/Fairbanks medallion is missing...

Question! Is the E-Trac really the best coin detector?

I prefer the etrac over the ctx. Sold my nox. Where I hunt, I'd be looking for an etrac or f75. They do the job and won't break the bank. They may be old tech, but they work. Get one, play with it, keep it or sell it. If you don't like it, I might buy it off of you.

    Odd residential hunt…..

It was weird-- I do my side of the front yard, and while Ron is finding war nickels, I'm up only 3 memorials, swinging my etrac using Elmy's expanded magic program. I hit the backyard-- long story short, '54 WA, 43 Merc and 47 Rosie, and 3 memorials in the bag. Not a single wheat... which...

    MAGIC ?????

As Elmy mentioned, I had the 800, and after many hours of head to head testing with the etrac and ctx, I sold it. It finds silver, but in some instances I could not discern, silver was invisible to it, but not the etrac, ctx and F75. The magic program reduced my trash haul by 95%, and made the...

    MAGIC ?????

Magic got a rosie and 8 wheaties yesterday. The only trash it found was a corroded WA state tax token. Hate those things. Love how it takes care of this old man's back!

    Road trip illinois 3 days

Yep... I methodically compared nox against the ctx and etrac-- sold the nox. It even lost out to Ronstar's F75.

A little help with further identifying likely era worn.

I don't think it's an exact copy of a Roman coin; rather, somebody went a little crazy with late Greek/Macedonian/Early and late Roman styles and just whipped something up to meet a deadline. The coin starts-- OOS-- it should be COS-- Consul-- there were two consuls, chief magistrates of the...

    20 years of wheaties

The economy 'roared' back in 1922. Instead of trying to intervene, .gov let it all crash, flushed the bad debt and the good times rolled for six years.

Really Really Nice Gold and Diamond band

Dental gold melts above 2,000F. Cremation temps are usually lower. That stuff doesn't go up the chimney; instead it usually goes into the mortician's pocket.

    Should I, or Shouldn’t I?

I have all 3, and it is the one I use the most. My nox is for sale locally-- need to get it boxed up and for sale here.

    First silver this year

If I had to guess, the design is most likely olive branch leaves-- early Christian iconography relating to the story of Noah.

    Today's departure with surprise

I found an urn at the local university. Small, about the size of one of those half sized coke cans. Probably drugs inside-- it was buried in a way that it was going to be retrieved and had a sickish sweet odor. Anyway, got a couple bucks for scrap value.

Today I witnessed a MAGIC show

Nope, Elmy. 10 degrees and snow. Ronstar and I are done until spring I'm afraid.
