Good job on the April fools joke !! You had me going for a little bit, I knew the ring looked familiar as I have used those for my pex plumbing crimps.

    Speechless and Humbled

Its pretty astounding when you think about the ring material and how its not detected by a metal detector or xrays of that time era. It reminds me of todays plastics..

    I'm an IDIOT...!!

I'm still mourning the loss of a near mint soaring eagle penny I found some years ago. I was using my Whites XLT around an old homestead foundation when I found it. Put it in my finds pouch/apron , then later discovered a hole in the pouch. I refound the coin around where I was detecting...

I was pleased to be interviewed by a legend of metal detecting for his blog this month.

Great interview Todd. Colonial detecting is also my main forte. I usually go out with my brother.. I am in W Mass and there are plenty of colonial homesteads out this way many , many long forgotten, and plenty still occupied. I also use the Nox 800 and my brother uses my At Max. HH

Giving up all control to my savior

True , We are so used to me , myself , and I . I can be honest and say " I am not there yet when it comes to having given everything over to Him." Its not as easy as it sounds. It is a daily decision , a daily walk. I am saved , I am being saved and I yet shall be saved . As we progress...

    1800S Case Gin Bottle ..

Bottle digging was my first passionate hobby. That is a beauty. Love how wavy it is. They used to blow some bottles in wood molds and would get the grain transfer on the glass. My brother and I recently found a couple of dumps. One of the dumps has a lot of pontilled bottle parts. Both...

Unbelievable Find! Hand Etched Dated Black Glass Mallet Bottle...

Good golly .. Nice bottle , some pretty crude etching. Definitely the right time period, It must have taken a little while to ding the bottle that many times. Just the right amount of pressure , too much and risk cracking it not enough, and no marks. Congrats very nice find indeed. Good...

    Are the Safari detectors.......

I believe they are . I know they are still selling them. I bought one when they first came out and it is an excellent machine . It is in my honest( opinion) a scaled down etrac with less bells an whistles. The same footprint . I never used an Etrac . I haven't used my Safari in quite a...

    The Ringfinders

Thanks for the clearer insight on ring finders . It is especially rewarding when the person who lost an item is sincerely thankful and you can usually tell by how their countenance changes. On the flip side it is unfortunate when some people just give lip service . When it starts costing you...
