    Correct @gfatizzi. Lower tone with the dime even though it is 82. @Odanscoils that is bizarre for sure. Thanks all. Also this was air test. I'll try outside once it quits snowing and temp goes above 28 o_O

    I am running 2.77. According to manual (actually Andy's book). Field is 2-tone 0-15 and 16-99. I have a silver half and a Mercury dime separated by 6" or so. Half rings up 95 and dime at 82 but why does the dime have a lower tone than the half? Maybe I am overthinking this?

    OK, so I have seen this issue reported before in multiple forums and FB groups. I went out to try and find my silver quarter (see my post on depth). I turn on the Simplex and it goes wild. Even before ground balancing and then after - VDI going crazy even when I hold the detector with coil...

    Thanks all. I guess I will just need to find me a spot with legitimate buried targets! I did try to locate the quarter with the stock coil and was getting a scratchy signal but it was cold as the dickens and I gave up.

    Maybe it's my soil? I will try with the stock coil. I see videos of people hitting dime @ 9" but I don't know their soil. I'll also dig the quarter out and bury it shallower.

    Hi, I was just given a Tracker IV. I am grateful since I had to sell my White's a few months ago. Now, I'm getting pumped since I'm reading some nice things about this machine. Was wondering if anyone had any experience/luck on salt beaches? Thanks, Rick78
