Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

Yep, that Steve guy loves his relics. So much he moved to Charleston SC and opened up a shop there.. Rebel Metal Detectors. He has closed it now and he loves his Nautilus but strange he never talks about them to me? I'll have to ask him when and how he got started water hunting, I know several...

    Coil wire...

There are a few numbers in this video, all from McMaster Carr. Only thing... none are shielded, and I can't say I ever seen any that were shielded that were used on BBS machines. I do know some of the older coils that were on the sword and the early Excaliburs did have 5 wires.. 2 were grounds...

Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

Yes, it was a common way of hunting back then.. and not using the cuffs.. When I first started hunting Sandy Point in 2013 there were still a few of the oldtimers using CZ 20s the same way. They would have the box mounted on their belt with just the shaft and coil to search with... like in the...

Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

Meet a guy named Ed and his brother John, many great stories of the 80s.. Ed still had his old machines.. I noticed them over in the corner and snapped a picture. Whites PI 1000 and a 3000 I think. Interesting the stories they shared the most gold rings they ever got in one hunt was 7. Back then...

Different Perspective – 20 Gold Rings of Yesteryear Equal to One Today!

So true and I like the way you think on that.. Could have been one of my post on someone who found a crazy amount of gold rings during the late 70's into the early 90's. In my research to hunt the Chesapeake Bay I talked to several older hunters who did hunt back in the late 70s to the 90s, I've...

    Silver is Going Crazy!!

Thank You! I wish I did have all the silver Ive dug in the past. The silver goes to the smelters, and proceeds go to the GF. That gives the silver a meaning when I do find it.. So far she has 293 grams, hoping to make it a silver year? I do dig a lot of silver coins.. Last hunt second picture...

Excalibur II squeals every 30 seconds or so

Time for a new battery. If I remember correct the stock battery charges up to around 14 volts, the new Li-ion charge to 12.6 and last a lot longer.

    Excalibur remote pinpoint switch replacement

Myself ... I use both on my Excals, but I do like the push button the best. Except the last few orders of the yellow cap push buttons ones I used ........ everyone of them have failed after a few hunts. Very poor quality. So I bought two of the switchcrafts and so far both are still working...

    EXCALIBUR wiring for NEL coil

Best way would be to trim about two inches of the black outer cable covering, ( If they are not color coded) then cut one wire at a time and check the continuity ..pin to the wire you just cut, and label each wire 1 thru 4. The reason, some of those coils, the wires are not color coded or...

    EXCALIBUR wiring for NEL coil

Watch close on the Detech SEF. Black is (1) Grey is (2) the chart says that but many over the years when in the order the colors are shown and not noticing the numbers 1 and 2 are swapped. Not many SEF coils left in this world...

Seems US repair center is no longer open

814-283-4270 They still do repairs on Minelabs but they are no longer a authorized repair center. I'm not sure what went down that Minelab took that away from them for they did and still do great work. Keith Leppert is the owner and a relic/beach hunter/prospecting hunter.
