    18th Century Button Needs Id

    Hi all, Detected this brass button (?) in an area in Northeastern Ohio that was settled 1803. Anybody have an idea what it is? It appears to say "Lawson's at Halifax Manufacturers". It's about 3/4 inch in diameter. Jim
