Is this some type of suspender buckle ?

Went back to the same old field yesterday with the ID Edge and found some more 1 piece flat buttons and this piece. I'm guessing it is some type of suspender buckle. Anyone know for sure and maybe how old? All the buttons have been early 1800's. Mike [attachment 19312 suspenderbuckle.jpg]

This Fisher will get the good stuff out of the iron

I went back to my little button field for about an hour today and found a few more solid 1 piece buttons. That's 121 buttons so far ut of this field. I'm still trying to figure out why so many buttons. Mike [attachment 18705 Buttons.jpg] [attachment 18706 IDEdgeSmall.jpg]

Eagle back button, ID help needed

I found this solid flat one piece button yesterday in the same field I've been hunting for the last few months. The backmark is Warranted Treble Gilt. It has an Eagle around the shank holding 1 arrow in one claw and a olive branch in the other. It also has 3 stars across the bottom. There is...

I was going to try and wear the ID Excel out next week but

Doesn't look like that's going to happen now. My son's school is on fall break next week so I got the week off to do some detecting and take a small vacation. I've spent the last 2 days with a IV in my arm taking antibiotics and steriods trying to get rid of pneumonia. They say I have a pretty...

Got permission to hunt 1837 homesite

I stopped at the UPS Store today where I usually ship parts from and I saw a Fisher detector box there. I started talking to the store manager about metal detecting. He told me he lived in a house that was built in 1837 and I was more than welcome to go look around his place. He said the house...

    First time Sovereign GT user

I should have a Sovereign GT tomorrow. I've had the Explorer XS and EX II and Quattro before but never a Sovereign. I'm getting the Minelab meter and 8" coil also. I'm going to take it to a field I hunt on a regular basis. There is a ton of history to this field but there is also alot of small...

    ID Excel or CZ-70 Pro

If you had to choose between the 2, which would you prefer for coin hunting? Also how is the ID Excel around old homesites where there is alot of small nails? If you could, please explain why. I've got a CZ-70 Pro but I'm thinking about getting a ID Excel for the weight difference. I do know one...
