    How much to recycle

I recycle my scrap copper, brass/bronze aluminum (other that cans) and scrap iron. My question is has anyone tried to recycle aluminum can slaw or screw tops. How about the twist off metal caps? Not too sure how the scrap yards would react to 100 lbs. of can slaw.

    Quarter cut 8 Reales coin

Has anyone seen anything like this? Found in a old ball field a few inches down (Nox 800). I think it is a 1799 Bust Type dollar. The 8 (for 8 reales) is visible, and it looks like a 7 in front of the 99. They were made between 1772 - 1825.

    Kentucky water hunting

Being a recent Washington state transplant there seems to be a decided lack of water hunting opportunities in Kentucky. Am I missing something? Where and what type of water bodies do you native Kentuckians hunt, and :shrug:can I get my water hunting fix eased?

Park 2 and Field 2 question

On page 23 of the manual under Park 2 it says "Park 2 Multi-IQ processes a higher frequency weighed multi-frequency signal while ground balancing for soil." Then on page 24 under Field 2 it makes the identical statement. Does this mean that Park 2 and Field 2 process signals the same? I...

    Any Doctors in the house??

My grandson recently had some surgical staples put on a head wound. To amuse him I decided to show him what a pin pointer would do. To my surprise, they didn't produce any response. Checked the pin pointer (Garrett carrot), it worked on a regular staple. What are surgical staples made from...

    Waterproof headphone volume control

Just ordered my 800, it will be here in a week. But after reading thru the on line manual, I didn't find any info on volume control on the waterproof headphone. Did I just miss it, or does that function not exist? If it doesn't, has anyone found any waterproof headphones with volume control...

Sounds like a much better package than the Safari, and for about the same price. Now all I have to do is find $900.00 dollars more in clad and I will be all set for the EQUINOX.

    Safari age

Just curious, is anyone aware if Minelab is planning a new Affordable FSB detector. I realize that the CTX3030 is fairly new, but out of my price range. I think the Safari came out 2008/2009, almost 10 years old now. I wonder what Minelabs replacement cycle is?

    Zinc pennies

I have been saving the rotten zinc pennies for a few years. I recently talked my bank into buying them from me by weight (18 pounds of them). They in turn sent them back to a Federal Reserve bank. A couple weeks later, the Fed sent them back, didn't want them. (Yes, I had to repay the bank)...

Nickels, gold, pulltabs and Charon (Pluto's largest moon)

After digging a few thousand pull tabs, I came across this bit of useless info!!! In September 2016, astronomers announced that the reddish-brown cap of the north pole of Charon is composed of tholins, organic macromolecules that may be ingredients for the emergence of life, and produced from...

    $106 + in 6 days

My, BY FAR, best week ever. A sports field with four baseball fields, but each field had its own concession stand. Over $106.00 in 6 days, but only 2 wheaties, no silver, and only 1 silver ring. Lots of aluminum, but no other pocket junk either - keys, knives, lighters. Yes, fun to get cash...

I recently recovered a 10k mans gold ring and the target ID was an 8. I don't even usually dig an 8. Am I missing a lot of rings or was this 8 just a fluke reading?
