    A Little Silver & a Nice Ring...

Nice finds. Makes me wonder how that ring found it's way into the bushes you were using

    Separation versus see-through in iron

I don't know if separation is the same as see-through. We've all seen tests of various makes of machines that exhibit very fast "recovery" speeds on closely spaced individual targets only to falter when it comes to Monte's Nail Board test. While testing my V3i, I tried many different settings...

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

White's received my 5.3 coil on February 24 and I received it back on the 14th of March. The coil appears to be new but the coil cable appears to have been wound around a rod at one time or another, so who knows. I haven't had time to test but I'm confident it'll be fine. As all here have...

    V3i With a SunRay Probe ???

I love the DX-1. I really enjoy pinpointing in either the discriminate mode or triggering for the VCO pinpoint while not needing additional batteries for a stand alone pin pointer. I have the DX-1 mounted on the upper rod and makes for a fast setup when digging in trashy sites. Is the extra...

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

Good Idea! Either way I'll end up with a healthy coil. Thanks for the suggestion, it's appreciated!

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

Yep, it's old and well used and I think Mary asked me about the age of the coil. :whites:

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

I called Mary awhile back and she said it would cost in the neighborhood of $30 plus shipping to repair the coil. :whites:

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

Thank you Larry, I'll do what you suggested

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

Yes, the serial number does start with a "V".

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

Thanks guys! I thought I was in for a new coil purchase. I've rarely needed to send in any detector or accessory of theirs since 1970. White's is great!

    Problem with 5.3 coil...

The coil works fine in multi frequency modes and single frequency modes 2.5 kHz and 7.5 kHz but goes nuts in 22.5 kHz. The coil is V rated and seems to work fine otherwise. Can it be fixed?

    Vaquero air test?

What should the Vaquero air test on a U.S. copper cent without super tuning and sensitivity at 9? I can get between 7" and 8" on my Bandido II uMax with the standard 8" coil and sensitivity set at 9. I watched a You Tube video where the Vaquero hit on a 12" quarter in the ground without knowing...

Problem: How do I contact the moderator or forum master?

I tried messaging through "Contact Us" but each time I get a failed delivery notice. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Roy

Can the Racer handle high mineralization?

I need to ask because in the Sacramento Valley where I live the ground is rather difficult. I ask this question with a past detector in mind, the Teknetics Mark 1, a two filter machine that didn't work well here or in Northern Nevada's ground. This leads me to wonder how many filters the Racer...

Racer standard vs Pro package question...

If I'm only interested in the small coil and rechargeable batteries/charger should I still buy the Pro package or just the standard package and buy the batteries/charger and small coil later? Anybody know what the small coil will sell for separately?

Rob, Thanks for the information, it's appreciated!

    G2 or T2?

Which would be best in older parks that have rusty iron targets in moderate to highly mineralized ground? I'm looking for a machine that has a reputation for finding deep high conductors near buried rusty iron. I'm saying "buried" because I'm not interested in what a detector can do on top of...

What currently made detector does best in finding high conductors near iron at depth?

I haven't dug a high conductor at depth (6" or deeper) since my old TR days back in the early 1970's. Of course, my old Coinmaster IV TR didn't get anything near 6" but I do remember finding coins coming out of the ground along with a nail or other rusted iron on occasion. Not anymore. I've used...

    8x6 SEF coil question...

Upon receiving the 8x6 SEF coil I found that the original White's supplied plastic bolt and nut wasn't long enough for a proper fit. I did what widebody suggested and went to Home Depot and found suitable plastic hardware. The bolt and wing nut are made of nylon and whitish in color. I wonder...

What machine is best in heavy trash using small coil?

My ground is at least medium mineralized, probably a bit worse though. I'm looking for accurate ID, very quick recovery speed and maybe some tones as well. I'm looking at White's MXT Pro but can't help but wonder about First Texas products too. Also, I'd prefer a machine that can be outfitted...
