    A few older Garretts

I apparently have a 92-2 lol. I apparently have a 92-2 lol. I didn't receive any paperwork with the coil. My main concern was that the plug connection was the same, and it was for an "older" Garrett. I did get it really cheap. 37$ shipped is pretty cheap. I am just happy that it works on one...

    A few older Garretts

update, the hothead coil only worked on the Freedom ace, terrible air tests on the 350. At least it was cheap lol

    A few older Garretts

Added these to my growing museum collection. I have never used these machines before. I just like the old ones. I picked up 5 machines as a lot locally last year. Nothing special, but they are just cool because they still work. Only one of the crossfire coils worked. I found a used 10"...

    Been away for too long

I have been collecting some obscure machines lately. I recently got an original Quick Draw, then a Quick Draw 2, now I have another Land Ranger coming. I do enjoy these older machines.

Going to try out a bigger coil

I just pulled the trigger on a used NEL Storm coil that will work on my Tracker IV. I’m not looking for more depth. I’m wanting more coverage. I figure the 14” will basically make it almost as good as a clean sweep coil. A good ballfield cruising machine.

    Compass coin magnum

I have one of these coming to me soon from a coworker. He is giving it to me. He says it doesn’t work. Could be something simple. Are they fairly easy to crack open to check out the insides? Thanks

Possible last hunt scores gold ring!

I had given up on getting out again this season. The weather looked like it was going to be too cold. I wish I would have gotten back into it earlier this year. The overnight temp was 30, but by afternoon it had warmed up to a balmy 37. I decided that between my winter prep chores I would...

First zippo, and a fake ring, plus clad

I am fortunate enough to live in a town of 4000, and be the only active detectorist. Since I have not hit the school sports fields in 2 years, it was time. I haven’t used my Tracker IV in a while, so that was going to be the detector, with the 4” coil mounted. I have been using the Tracker since...

Took 2 years off, but LRP brought me back.

Life got too busy for a while. The machines collected dust, but I’ve been out about a half dozen times lately. I’ve been taking the LRP out with the 11”, 8”, and 4” ultra coils. I’ve also swapped coils with the Eurotek Pro using my adapters. I’ve only pulled about 5 dollars in clad, but have...

New to me Land Ranger Pro

I just recieved a used unit today. Very impressed with how easy it is to set up in each mode. I like how the settings are retained after turning it off. Having used a few Firsat Texas machines in the past, I was very comfortable with it right away. I plan on making 2 coil adaptors so I can...

Pics have been posted on Fishers Facebook page from the SHOT 2015 show in Vegas. I am sure we will have someone post them here soon. They look nice!

    Borrowed AT Pro silver

Thanks to a local friend I was able to borrow an AT Pro for a few weeks. I really just wanted to find out if it is all that it's cracked up to be. I also wanted to try a machine with GB to see if it would bring my spots back to life. Took it out yesterday for 30-45 minutes to get the GB...

Pulling tabs at my favorite spot, and a few coins

Went over to my "goto" spot today for a bit. Only had an hour, but decided to give the Eurotek pro some leg work. I consistently pull the older tabs from this ball field. It never disappoints me :) I was impressed when I got a good "zinc" number. It was solid, so I dug it. First thing that...

    Quick basketball hunt

Still loving the Time ranger. I didn't get to hunt for a long as I wanted (only 45 minutes). I hunted on one end of a basketball court. I worked an area about 5x5. Not much to speak of, but I did land a 6" deep 42 nickel. I was using the 4" coil the whole time. It doesn't look like anyone...

    Tracker IV vs Time Ranger

The title is actually deceiving. I don't actually plan on comparing these two. I already know where their strengths and weaknesses are. I just plan on taking them both out in the morning to hunt with. I have decided to keep the 4" coil on the Time Ranger. Since I always have the 4" on the...

    Nice little hunt today

For those who enjoy seeing what a regular hunt with some trash looks like :) One 1920 wheatie, some change, and a few nickels. I actually call this a decent hour out. Not every hunt produces the mind blowing finds :) The Time Ranger likes those nickels.

    Finally getting a Time Ranger

It has only taken me 12 years lol. Ever since I have read about Ed and Pineapple talk about theirs when I first purchased my tracker IV I have wanted one. Sure, I could have purchased a different coil for one of my existing machines, or bought a newer machine, but this is one I have wanted for...

    Some afterwork clad and silver?

Hit some nice clad pockets around the football fields. Also pulled out this small cap thing. It read like a quarter, but there are no markings. Could be silver, but either way had a good time.

    Good day with Eurotek

Had some fun digging this morning. Most was caught with the Etek. I was pretty excited at one point when I had a solid 92 reading. It ended up being 3 clad quarters in a spill. I had thought it would be a silver ring. Still happy with the finds :) The aluminum pop tops come in at a weird...
