What I did with two of my first finds

About two months ago I was looking at a 925 chain I found last year that I had cleaned and wore every so often. I decided to add my first silver coin, which I found this spring, to the chain. I am really happy I had this done, two of my first silver finds that I wear much more often now! Jason

    Maryland Union encampment finds

I went on a small group hunt with a few guys today. One of our guys researched and found a very good area. Found a few buttons, a makeup compact, Civil war bullets (one looks like it was carved in to a knight chess piece), and a scabbard tip to a Model 1850 Foot Officer Ames sword. Jason

Went on a group hunt today. We hit an area that was close to a large Union encampment. Got a couple buttons, a makeup compact, Civil war bullet, one that looks like it was carved into a Knight chess piece, and what seems to be a Model 1850 AMes Foot Officer sword scabbard tip. Pretty cool day...

    Button maybe???

Found this, this afternoon and it looks like a brass button, but don't really see hooks on the back. Any ideas? It is about 1.05 inch in diameter. Thickness is .085. It came out of the ground with a green tarnish over it, that is what makes me think brass. Thanks! Jason
