    THANK YOU for the suggestions.

    Batteries

Going to need some AA batteries for my new Minelab V440....really want to get rechargeables...anyone experienced with those? So many choices out there now... Thanks in advance.

Wrapping the Coil Wire - Opinions?

Use automotive split wire loom from Autozone or Walmart, works great, your wire won't snag on anything.

$100,000 and 2 years in jail + restitution

Interesting sign. Can't even POSSESS a metal detector, so don't even drive from Sierra Vista to Tombstone with one, because you have to pass through this 'Preserve' on the road. Ok, so it's a 'conservation area'....but...tell me exactly what they're trying to conserve out here, scrub desert...

    Legal Agreement for detecting?

For as many years as metal detecting has been around, I'm surprised no one has come up with some kind of legal agreement form, for detecting on private land, signed by the homeowner/landowner and the person doing the detecting. This could "release the searcher, their agents and associates from...

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

Found it, see post #8 in this thread for answer and link. Same frequencies at the Nox 800, but they all run at the same time on the V440.

    Walmart coin star silver!

Nice score! I used to check pay phones for change (remember those?) These days I'll check the water refill station at the local Ranch Market, everyone forgets to push the button for their change after filling up. Sometimes I'll hit for fifty cents.

🙈🙈🙈 NEVER do this while Metal Detecting 🙈🙈🙈

The guy is an idiot, standing around the nest talking about it and taking video. You see something like that, get out of there ASAP. It's a real concern here in the open desert, when you can be miles away from your car with nowhere to run and the hive is Africanized Bees. Even when I hear loud...

AH! That clears it up....got it...two programs that run simultaneous frequencies, and 5 single to choose from, thank you, appreciate it. Yea, the Legend was out of my budget anyhow, so I had to go with the V440. Can't wait to get out there.

...and BOOM! just like that, a new Vanquish 440 came home with me today. Military Discount at Sportsmans Warehouse made the deal a little sweeter. :)

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

https://www.noktadetectors.com/metal-detector/the-legend/ Unless I'm reading that wrong, says "2 Multi & 5 Single Frequencies"....does that mean you can run 2 frequencies at the same time, or choose to run one from the 5 available?

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

The Legend - Operating Frequencies Multi(2), 4kHz, 10kHz, 15kHz, 20kHz, 40kHz Seems you can run any two frequencies at the same time, otherwise it's one-at-a-time. Strong battery, good machine, if you can afford it. Since I'm broke, the Vanquish Series seems to be a good option for me. :)

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

I like the strong battery on the Legend, and the fact that it's user serviceable, but noticed it only can only run 2 frequencies at the same time...wonder why they didn't make it to run all five together? Looks like a great machine, though....maybe one day, after I dig up a Rolex or two... ;)...

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

Can't afford the Legend anyhow, out of my price range at $700+ after tax and shipping. I kind of figure if the Vanquish pushes the same frequencies as the Nox, that's good enough for me, and much better than the single-frequency detector I currently have. See if I can catch the V440 on a...

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

FINALLY found it....don't know why they can't just list it on the spec page..so yes, to answer my own question, the same frequencies are used on the Equinox and Vanquish Series (5, 10, 15, 20 and 40), but they all run at the same time on the Vanquish and can't be used individually...

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

Won't consider a metal detector with a built-in rechargeable battery (will eventually fail after so many charging cycles) would rather have the option to change batteries right then and there in the field. On their website, Minelab shows the frequencies for the Equinox: "Operating Frequencies...

    I called Minelab....and they didn't know, either...

Okay, so this might not be exactly the right forum to ask...but... I've been wanting to upgrade from my single frequency detector and am looking at this 'Vanquish Series' model 440 and it says 'Multi IQ Technology'...and I know all the frequencies are used at the same time, there's no picking...

    Gold on the beach

Wish we knew the backstory on it...maybe she caught him cheating and gave the ring a fling! Either way, nice score! Gold on the beach = Love on the rocks
