Well... kinda. This jack Is open, should there be a plug in there? It came without anything in it.

I assume it's not waterproof like this?

That is a headphone jack for not waterproof headphones 1/4 jack.

If you buy waterproof headphones, you unscrew the screw and remove the adapter, then plug in your waterproof headphones.

I assume this isn't "rainproof" with that 1/4" jack like it is. ?

If you only use your wireless module, you can remove this 1/4" headphone module, and use the plug that's in the back of it to seal the actual waterproof connector underneath.

More info here, with Minelab Knowledge Base Article PDF:

Note that unless you're using waterproof headphones or earpieces, nothing you do is truly "rainproof"....on any detector.
I guess it depends on the rain, lol.
:)

Thank you!

I hate that big bulky wireless setup! The wireless unit alone weighs as much as my Deus2 :)

It's enough carrying the CTX itself, let alone the additional wireless headphone receiver and headphones !

Just to keep dirt and moisture out, I used a rubber stop (I don't remember for sure, but for glove box or ash tray maybe) found in an automotive store.

Go to a hardware store where all the nuts and bolts are, there should be bins of rubber stoppers in various sizes. Find one that fits snug but easy to remove with fingertips.
