06 Coil

Got out yesterday evening for a couple hours with the 06.. First off, is cute as a button, looks smaller than a 6" Excelerator but is actually the same size... In a coin garden it has no problem with a 8" dime and on some deep garden coins is the only coil to give a good tone and accurate VID...In the wild, I did notice the depth gauge being off some, several 6" indicated coins were in the 4" plugs instead of the hole where they were supposed to be... Overall it is at least as deep as the 6" Excelerator on a Explorer/Etrac and is the only detector/coil combination to hit and properly ID deep garden coins, especially if there is iron masking involved... wildherre

Thanks for the info....do they advertise the coil as sending the correct depth info to the machine? That is a huge pet peeve with the Explorer--the non-stock coils giving false depth indications...it is very annoying to say the least. You would think it would be such a simple software fix, just changing an offset value. I'm gonna have to invest in the 6" & the big one soon!

Another great report of the 6" coil hitting an 8" coin. Great news, thanks for sharing,

Albert
