I know from reading Randy's postings on coils for the X-Terra 705 that the lower frequency coils will detect silver coins better, and the higher KHZ. coils will detect small gold and jewelry items better, My question is just how much of a sacrifice in using the 10.5" 18.75 DD coil will there be finding silver? I hunt mostly in parks and would like to look for the lost gold rings and jewelry, But also don't want to miss good silver targets,I also understand that all coils will find all metals.
The areas I hunt in have a ground balance mainly in low to mid 20"s (less than the 30% rule) if that means anything.
I have an ace 250 with a 10x14 accelerator coil and it made a huge positive difference in my finds especially in some of the big farm fields I hunt in.
I really like the DD coil I got on my ace and was wondering if the 10.5 in DD @18.75 kHz would do the same on the X-Terra 705 as it did on my ace 250.
The Ace has a fixed ground balance some ware around 6.75KHz.
On another note I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between the pinpoint mode and the pinpoint auto I've read the manual several time and cannot seem to figure out what the difference is between the two.
