Me and a buddy of mine went out this morning. We found a lot of clad, a couple of wheat pennies, and I found my FIRST SILVER!!!
I had been digging 12-44's all morning getting clad dimes and copper pennies.
I got another solid 12-44 in two directions so I knew I had a coin. I was thinking probably another copper Penny or clad dime. Once I got the 2" plug out of the ground I stuck in my X1 probe. The numbers changed from 12-44 to 12-45. I knew it was going to be different this time. I loosed the soil around the hole and reached in to pull out a handful of dirt.
Sure enough, out popped a 1946 Roosevelt as shinny as the day it was dropped. A nice change from the rusty brown dimes I'm use to digging.
Anyway, no big deal, but at least I'm not a silver virgin any longer.
