1225-X the good, the bad, the ugly

Had one of these a few years ago with the 8" spyder coil. If I remember right it was a pretty good detector, didn't use it much though. Got kind of a hankering to get another one if I find a cheapie.

Anyone got any opinions on this detector? depth, discrimination , recovery speed etc.

The 1225-X is a good basic metal detector...reliable, long battery life, good depth of detection, basic discrimination with no notching. It is just a fun metal detector to use, and it will get the job done. Kelley (Texas) :)
 
The 1225x was my first detector, loved it and gave it to my Dad who won't part with it. It is fast, simple ,stable, reliable, light, very ergonomic, 40-50 hrs on a pair of 9v batteries, it loves silver, it is sensitive to fine chains, It has not to shabby depth. One of the longest running model in the Fisher stable. One sweet little machine, same as the 1235x less the variable frequency knob and hip mount,
