14" accelerator coil does anyone use it ?nd. feedback..

I have used the 14 inch sine they first came out with it. I like it. It works well. Has really good depth and is easy to pinpoint . I have no complaints. If you are any where near Rockford, Illinois you are welcome to stop by and try it.

Doc, Thanks for the offer. I hunt with 4 guys that have the wot. One of them fell apart and the other three are using the stock coil. I bought the 14 inch just to try something different and I am pleased with it but the majority of the hunting I do is with the stock coil. I do believe that the larger coils will get more depth but they will pass a lot of good coins. When I first got the explorer the guys did not believe that I was finding the coins that i was telling them about. They had hunted these places exclusively with the wot and swore that no way did they leave that stuff. No matter what you prefer the stock coil is one coin getting rascal. Thanks again and have a great day. Jimp.

Jimp,

As with ANY coil there's a time and place to use each one. Naturally, I have found coins that the WOT missed. BUT, that is due totally to the target averaging of the Explorer and not the WOT. Used in the proper enviroment (lower trash, etc.) the WOT is IMHO is nearly unbeatable. It is by far the best coil in depth and on-edge coins. You just have to recognize when to use the WOT and when to put it away. I have used the WOT to cover alot of ground in fields that I would have not had the time to cover if I wouldn't have been using the WOT. I've also used the WOT at 'new' sites to help me zero in on more productive area because I could cover alot of ground quickly.

Hey Doc, is this an open offer? I`ve been sitting on the fence trying to decide if a WOT is for me. Unfortunately I don`t anyone else with an Explorer or WOT in my area.

Russ

Bill W. I do not talk badly about products that others use. I do however like to hunt areas that have been hunted out with the wot. I do very well in them. It is however just like you said that not all areas are suited for larger coils and as long as I am able to hunt and be with some friends for a little competition then that is all that counts. This is a great hobby that I have enjoyed now for over 30 years. talking detectors is just like talking cars. Is one better than the other. Am I wrong for not buying what the others buy. live and let live. Have a great day and HH. JimP

Jim,

I definitely did not mean to come across the wrong way if I did. Believe it or not some people would not realize why a smaller coil will do just as good as a big coil. I do believe in if it works for you then you use it. I regularly use coils ranging from 5 to 15 inches. All of them has their purpose. You can ask anyone that has hunted with me that I love a little bit of healthy competition. I agree the stock coil is definitely no slouch. HH!

Where are you located? I'm close to Altoona, PA... about 100 miles NE of Pittsburgh.

I know where that is. I make a trip out east twice a year. I hunt in Jersey a lot and have for years.

Sorry Russ it is not an open offer. The parent company in Australia gives me so many coils a quarter to do promotions with. So I am limited as to what I can do.

Thanks!
