15" COIL?

Looking for updated info/recommended experience using the 15" coil.

I just bought a 15" for my NOX 800 but haven't had a chance to try it. Really bought it for coverage on Florida beaches during the winter months. Have heard that it is a bit chatty, much like I find the 11" coil under certain conditions. I usually run at 22-25 MAX sensitivity w threshold around 9-10 when I can get away with it. Just have to turn down the sensitivity to reduce the chatter when necessary.
I think a lot of people think that the larger coil will go deeper; but the most important aspect is that you get better coverage IN LOW TRASH AREAS. I also have a CTX 3030, and with the 17" coil it is near worthless in my backyard that is covered in trash and the CTX blanks out like a machine gun...need 6" coil. Don't get me wrong, the 15" coil will go deeper than the 11" NOX coil in most circumstances, but for 95% of the targets you find it will not have made a difference. In addition, depending on conditions, the 11" coil may actually go deeper than the 15" coil (e.g., highly mineralized soil/sand) or better at separating targets in trashy areas.

Very good info. I am about using it in moderate to mild soil with very low trash. If it just gets an inch or two of depth it may not worth it.

Thanks for your help.

So really for me it is about how many targets that go into the sack. I have a new 15". In the short time that I have used it. I have found more targets at the beach. Yeah, a few deep ones but, truthfully it covers more area. I am still adjusting my settings to find a good fit for me. But finding more than with 11" in the same amount of time.
