16 silver day:super: Perfect way to end the season!!

Made it out for one last hunt in 2011. Met Ray bright and early for an all day hunt in the cold. After reaching my goal of 100 silver on my last trip, I went into this day with no goals and expectations. Just wanted to enjoy the hunt and be glad for any extra I could add to my totals. We braved to cold and heavy snow at times, fingers that felt frozen and for what?.......16 more silver coins!!!!! It was an unbelievable day. My previous best one day silver count was 13 and I crushed it! It was by far the most productive 8 hours of detecting I have ever had.

As usual we were at a couple different public spots and not new ones by any means. We have both hunted these spots before but I think it was the combination of the moist ground and our new "secret weapon" that made the day so productive as many of the silver were coming from extremely deep depths. Even as impressive as my day was, I would have traded it for the day Ray had. We both had the kind of day we usually only dream about.

This was my second full season with the E-trac and thanks to more time with it and Ray's help, I feel like I have become much more proficient with it (nearly tripling last years silver totals) and can't wait to see what my third year with it is going to be.

Here is a pic of the day's take

great day so what is the new "secret weapon"?

If you look closely, it is revealed in the video:thumbup:

Bob, I was just thinking that the "secret" is the coil you are using. Which coil is that, if you don't mind me asking ?

It is obviously a Nel tornado 12"x13" dd coil.

Merry Christmas to yourself Bob. Congratulations on a very memorable hunt I'm sure.

Is it really that obvious ? Sorry if I was'nt paying better attention . .

I don't think it is "obvious" to those not familiar with it especially covered with snow but yes it is the NEL Tornado coil and it is awesome!!

Bob,

Absolutely amazing finds in a public park! Man, I wish I had parks like that around here. You two must be the only human beings with metal detectors in Missouri lol. "Super silver day" made you really warm in 20 degree temps. Thanks for sharing the video as it was nice to see silver popping from the ground like popcorn. Merry Christmas! - Jim

WOW!!! Congrats on your silver. :beers:
