1838 half Dime

Coach

New member
I found this on the Santa Fe Trail where a foot and a half of soil had been removed. I was stunned at the condition it is in and still am. It graded at XF 40. On top of that it is a small star series. Good luck hunting everyone.

Wow, superb condition as well! Nice find.

Wow that's a beautiful coin! Back when the mint actually took some time to put beauty into public coinage! Definitely a lost art nowadays...

What a beautiful coin. I think I would frame that one. I found only one of them. Mine is an 1864. It was only about 2" deep. The only other half dime I have is a merc. that got hit with a mower. Great find... KEN
