1843 half dime from this past weekend .

Just trying to post with my iPhone , anyway here's a half dime I got this past weekend , had to chop through the frozen ground to get it , farm field , ulster co. NY
 
Finding half dimes is exciting. This one looks like its been thru a lot in its day.
 
Yup , she was barely readable , but good enough to get a date , got one last yr. to , that one was turned into a love token
 
Believe it or not they came up in the 32-33 range ???? Not sure why , I figured I was gona pull out an Indian head !!!!!
 
I have a 1921 Morgan silver dollar that I got from my Dad. He's had it since the '50's. On the Safari it reads lower than a silver quarter. Quarter reads 38, the Morgan reads 32-34. On most other detectors the Morgan will read higher than a quarter. It did on my MXT Pro, and Xterra when I had them and it does on my Deus also. Why it reads lower on the Safari, I have no clue.
