1874 Seated Quarter Today

Got out yesterday for a couple of hours in the North end of Peoria near the river. Dug this 1874 seated quarter. It has no mint mark and was in only 2-3 inches of dirt. The coin is very worn and may have gotten thrown by a lawn mower tire. Looks like skid marks on the back side. Lots of junk, I think the city dumped fill in this area for years all along the river. Quite ugly at the waters edge when you look at all the debris. I would love to hunt the sidewalks in our old neighborhoods but it is just to dangerous.

Congratulations Ned, a seated quarter in any condition is a great find :clapping:

Sure is a pretty one even if it's been abused. Very nice find. Congratulations Ned!
