1968 Olympics Silver 25 peso coin

Ok where do I start? Freezing windchill today but I had to get out in the sun and hunt a little. I drove to an old neighborhood of East Peoria and parked. This is an area that has some hundred year old homes. No parks or public land to speak of just houses and the narrow strips of land between the curb and the street. Well anyway I turned on my M6 and had not walked more that ten feet before I got the signal for a dollar. Well we all know that you get this signal quite a bit. It said that the depth was 3 inches so I said why not. At first I thought it was the back of a Morgan but then I realized I have never seen this before. This is a poor photo taken with my not so smart phone. Anyway what a surprise! I hunted for fifteen minutes more and found 11 cents then the wind got me and I called it quits. What a strange day and a short hunt.

What a great find..... A little over half an ounce of .720 silver.

Looks like you fought the cold and came up with something "cool"! That really is a awesome coin. Find's like that, the ones that surprise you, really make you smile.

So were you just doing the curb strips? There is a strip in my area I would like to try.

Yes I was doing just the curb strip. The exact location is Pekin Ave hill. I have gotten very random on where I hunt anymore. Sometimes I just pull over and turn the M6 on.

Nothing wrong with random. That gives me some motivation to try the strip I was looking at. Thanks.

How awesome is that! Such a cool coin. Congrats on finding it and glad to hear you got out also. HH, Nancy
