We finally got nice weather with temps at 60 deg F, so we loaded up the car and headed out for a hunt. We hit a local school tot lot that had been closed for near 28 yrs. It had turned up good coins but little silver but a few wheat's. I dug some clad coins and getting used to the new machine, I'm happy with it and the choice I made. My better half hunts with a Fisher F-2 that's a nice little machine so she has been eyeballing my coinstrike and wanted to hunt with it. I let her since I figured she might want to upgrade this year and I could let her have it if she likes it. I showed her the coinstrike and she was off hunting so I got started. My first was a quarter, then a couple dimes and few Zsinkers all clad. I got some really good signals and was sure I had silver but I started finding little square penny size pieces of aluminum then I remembered about 20 yrs ago the school was used for storage and the maintenance dept. used it to do repairs on office furniture, school lockers etc. I must have dug more than 8 pieces of these penny size scrap, so I moved more toward the playground away from this area that was the edge of the gravel parking lot. I was closer to watching my old coinstrike in action when she said look at this as she was looking into a hole. I knew how this was going to turn out since she wanted the first coin of the year that I had already found. She found a small silver ring and I ask her is she was liking the coinstrike any better now, and she said yes so now I need more practice to stay ahead of her and my old machine.
