1st V Nickel of the year!

I went out today for a short hunt. The park I hunted has one of those darn cell towers right next to it. Have to run low sensitivity or my detector just goes nutts! It was 5- 5 1/2 inches deep rang in as a 42-43 on the F44. settings were 14 sens 58 ground balance, in jewelry mode. Was very happy with finding it even if it is pretty toasted. I believe it is a 1888 (?) (due to health problems) just being able to get out was nice. Thanks for looking!

Nice find for sure. Really glad you were able to get out. Hopefully you're on the mend. I've always said that metal detecting is like a form of physical therapy. I know it helps me. I can usually tell after a full day, pretty sore. Hope you're able to get out some more. Joe

Always nice to get out when you need some therapy. Hope you can go out more, I can't imagine not being able to go. I'd go nuts! . . . Short trip for me!

Physical therapy, Mental therapy, Emotional therapy...just put on the headphones and start swinging...the world just fades away. Good to hear your out getting some therapy. Now sign me up for some of that V nickel medicine!

It looks like a 1898 but heck 1888 or 1898 still a fantastic find! Hope you feel better - Jim

Congrats on the v. I found one earlier in the year while digging anything that sounded round and deep in all metal. Mine is pretty toasted too. It's very hard to dig a nice old nickel.

Nice !
