1st week with Nasa Toms LTD SE

I purchased a LTD SE from Nasa Tom that he had validated and tested, it works PERFECT.

Tonight I only had time for a short hunt before dark. I was digging basically everything that sounded good, in a little over a hour I had only dug 12 pulltabs & beaver tails, 2 rusty bottle tops, a old rusty sqaure and 67 cents in clad and right before I was gonna quit I got one more strong pull tab signal at 5". Which turned out to be a womans gold ring
Its funny how you can spend all day digging dozens of tabs and not find anything and then you have nights like this!
The ring is broken and has some cryptic writing in it which reads: "SH 9 375 (a sideways boat achor) C"

Last week I found a bunch of wheats, 2 Mercs 45' & 40', a 36' Buffalo and a 1909 Barber quarter. A section of a gold bracelet I found by accident in a hole with a pennie. Also a glass button?, it was deep at 8" That is also a peice of a old plate..the area is very old.

Excellent finds! That red "button" looks like part of an old sign whereas they'd use glass marbles, or pieces like yours for the reflector.

The "375" part of your ring may stand for 9K which would make it English as to the best of my knowledge they're the only ones that have a 9K gold standard. I found a white gold ring that is also marked 375, when I first found it I thought it was a silver ring as it's not stamped very well at after unearthing it I thought it was stamped 925

I'm sure Tom would know, but I wonder if it's possible to "tune" up a F75 SE/LTD, or if they have no adjustment?

It looks like that F75 is going to serve you well.

5" depth on the "pull tab" "hit" would have me investigating further!..it's all i would need to know to dig that signal!
..depth meter ,can sometimes be worth it's weight in "gold"..just sayin!..

Great bunch of recoveries, Aaron. It would appear that you actually do have the "top of the line" Fisher detector. I wonder if Tom "tunes" up other models besides cz's? Hmmmmmm! HH jim tn

Hey, Aaron,nice bunch of finds. It just sounds cool to throw Tom's name on anything. I think the guy should have his own stickers so we can keep up with him. You will love the LTD. My standard line is that it will yank me over into an the next row in a bean field when it picks something up at the end of my swing. Lots of great recoveries coming for you. Keep us posted.

I have seen them used on the old Schwinn (1960's) bicycle seats on the rear of the seat. I've seen red and green reflectors.

The red button is a small reflector that had a screw on the back. The screw wasn't attached too well and the reflector would pull off if the screw was tightened too much. I think it was a1/4-20. It was used to attach your car tag to the car. It was popular in the 40's.
