Hello Everyone,
Yesterday started slow at a couple of neighborhood parks, found a pocket knife at the base of a slide and a 40 SW live round in the swing area. Moved to another area that I had found a few wheaties and a Merc. It was getting hot and my camelback was running low. Found 7 wheaties, earliest 1912 (35-37 on the VID) and then a Barber Dime. I was doing the happy dance in my head!!! (1903 O) I couldn't believe it when I saw one dime on the back. Rang up 35-36 on the Safari. Then a 15 came up and I thought may be a nickel so why not dig it. Turned out to be a 1927 Buff. Another first! Man was I psyched!!! Never thought I would find a Barber in St. Pete. You just never know. Also, 2 little items at 2 different places that I have no idea what they are. Any suggestions are appreciated. I will post them on the help forum later.
Thanks for looking...

Congratulations on your finds. Safari strikes again. As you said, one never knows what you
may find underground and that's what makes metal detecting exciting.

Thanks reltolbert,
Will have to go back and look some more where I have hit yet. I think I was just on the verge of heat exhaustion, so I packed up and went home.

Bunky -Way to go on your new finds!. Always exciting to find your first coin of a certain denomination. Thought I had my first buffalo a couple of days ago, wrong! Turns out it's my first V nickel- 1903 instead...will post it tonight after it's olive oil bath is done.

Thanks kschae4,
I have been hoping for a Buff, figured that was doable...never thought I would get a Barber. Look forward to seeing your V!!!! Way to go.

Thanks Bunky. That buffalo has some decent detail to it....Barbers are becoming one of my more desired to recover. Besides the 1898-o I found 2 wks ago, I've got a sweet 1913 that my land star sniffed out at 9-10 inches a couple of yrs ago..Good Luck today...

kschae4, Make sure you tell us how long you soaked it in the olive oil. What reading did you get on that V nickel?
