Hit a farm field that once had a school on it in the 1800's and the adjacent farm house built in 1890. I used the 15" WOT coil on my Etrac for some extra coverage and depth. Got 2 Large Cents (1826 and No Date). Got some other goodies too including part of a large crotal bell, couple harmonica reeds, old toy tank, and a couple intact flat buttons. You know I haven't used it a lot. I bought it specifically for hunting this field which was actually back from early December. This was the first field I ever hunted. The targets in fields I don't think get terribly deep because they get plowed up often. One of the buttons was a good 6" down though and it was a smaller target. I took the coil to the park today to try it out there but found out the ground is still frozen rock solid after about 3" so I quit and came home. The coil pinpointed for me dead-on on every target at the field which I was surprised for being such a large coil. The only drawback is the weight of it. But then again I just picked up a Sunray X5 and was messing around in my yard last night and my arm got tired after about 20 minutes with that tiny coil lol. It's been a long winter and I think I'm out of shape now. I have the WOT up for sale mainly because I don't plan on hunting anymore fields since they're aren't too many around me and the park is probably going to be entirely too trashy because it's been littered in since 1892.

Thanks for taking us along. Congratulations on the LC's!

Wow...look at you!!! Two largies already. I bet you can't wait until the weather is just right for hunting. I can't wait to see what else you're going to find there...just let me know if you want my help!! ha ha ha

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Nice finds buddy. All my coppers come out like that as well. Are ground seems extra hard on them. Plus I hear that fertilizers really can eat up copper. Would love to find two large cents in a day.

Excellent finds !

I was thinking about getting the WOT but still haven't logged any real hours on my etrac since I just got it a month ago and it has been frozen and snowed in here. Should I wait to learn the machine before getting a larger coil? Congrats on the LCs!
