Only had 40-50 minutes while waiting for great grandson at the Doc's so went to a park a few blocks from the office. It turned out to be a good choice. I junk ring and a 925 ring with a 30" 925 necklace. Also picked up a 1940 Canadian penny. Thanks for looking.....Z

Wow, that is 2 great chunks of silver. 30" of silver makes for a great day, any time. HH jim tn

Man, Zeek, you were right! Wisconsin parks are just jammed in the summer. Thats a great haul you got there in a short time, I dont see how you guys over there even attempt to go after a target that is deeper than a few inches. What kind of signal did that necklace give off? I've been focusing on those scratchy scatterred ones on the beach, but so far, no necklaces yet this year, not to the magnitude of THAT one anyway...Great story of an opportunistic hunt, well done buddy!

Thanks Jim, Mud and Terra for replies.
When I came home I showed it to my wife and she looked at it and said that is a good one. She measured it because I thought it was 24" and of course she had to show me I was wrong. I had the 6" coil on and it was near a pole and I was getting 2 sounds. The pole sound and the other target sound. I really don't know what the meter was reading? It was all over the place. All I knew there was 2 sounds there. So I always dig those 2 sound targets near poles. Many times it is a coin and it was only about 2" down. I am not going to tell those guys they are using the wrong coil .
The 2 rings came out of the ground because when I was done with the chips I was swinging the detector as I was going back to the car I got a quarter and a dime reading close together. Both rings about 7" apart and about 2"-3" down. Again by luck because there was a picnic table there. That is why I looked there.
Terra when anyone in the family goes anywhere I usually go hunting if it is going to take an hour or more. We only have one car and one driver. There is always a park/school near by. Wife will call when done.
I was glad I went because it was already 90 and it was hot at 9 am.
But the great thing was when coming home I noticed a big and I mean big church outing just starting in one of the parks we passed. Called my friend Dave and we are set to go tomorrow morning.
I just love this hobby... Z

J.t. just so happens that I play the lottery every day. I have this long process that I use to figure out the numbers. Have been playing for years. I play $1 a day. That is how I got into computers because I was charting the numbers using graph paper. Found out the computer would do it for me. I got a computer, the rest is history. It is another hobby that I enjoy. I watch those numbers come up and stick around for awhile and slip into left field. It is kind of interesting. Thanks for kind words J.t. ......Z

Way to go Z,s.! Love the way the Canadian coins always strike so strongly in the phones. Keep it up. CO

its been said since christ was an altar boy, that "the odds are always with the house"
and that is certainly true, however NOBODY wins without showing initiative,
which is certainly the truth both in life, and in gambling!..just sayin'

Curt one of these days I am going to take my Canadian coins that I have found and cash them in. It will probably cover having a nice meal at Culver's. :clapping: My hunting partner and I are planing to go out this morning. In the 90's again today and again and again and again. Gad I am getting tired of this cold weather I wish it would warm up!
J.t. you might be right with odds for the house. I have found hundreds of ways how NOT to win the lottery... But got up this morning and found out I didn't win but another idea of how to play tonight's game. So I will see how my new approach works tonight? Thanks guys and be cool ......Z

kool!.house has got to let ya win once in awhile!
if it didn't, nobody would play!..just sayin'

Thanks Bart. Dave and I went out today and hunted for hours at this church picnic site and I came home tired. Dave got 38 coins and I got 27. It wasn't worth all the sweat we lost to dig those coins. But again 2 old codgers sitting there in the shade watching the world go by, it was still great. No one bothered us and we got a big kick out of just passing the time together BS'ing. Thanks guys....Z
