2 tone ferrous sounds saved the day! NICE indian!

Now you know how effective the 2 tone ferrous pattern is why not use it all the time. I do, its great.

It'd kill you in a park. You couldn't determine, without looking at the screen, just what you were digging. Could be a pop top or a nickel. Memorial Penny or a silver quarter. It definitly does have its place and that's in an area littered with nails, bolts or misc. pieces of iron. Like an old house site, farmstead, farm field etc. In a picnic area where people throw away the pull tabs, pop tops, bottle tops, aluminum cans that have been run over by a lawn mower, the number of high conductive targets are just too great. I think Dectectorists are the cleanest people in the world. You won't see any of us drop a bottle cap on the ground....we're afraid we might end up digging it up someday.

NebTrac

I know what you mean NebTrac, but over here in the uk we have so much in the ground that if we use any discrim we stand a chance of missing something. I like to hear whats in the ground, i dont mind digging a few ring pulls etc if it means i might hit a hammered coin or a roman.

Been to England and agree with both of you - totally different hunting styles used for totally different land conditions and the potential finds..

England = primarily plowed farms and vast pasture lands with items of value coming in all over the CO range. Digging is fast and easy. Dig everything not iron.

USA = primarily parks, schoolyards and some private property with items of value mostly in the high CO area - except for the rare gold coin/jewelry. Digging is not easy. Need to make a perfect plug and avoid any grass burnout in hot summer. Dig only those items that appear to be of value.

Hey Terry, nice job. When you said you opened your screen wide, did you remove all the black? Were you using any discrim? thanks, Dan
