Ma Betty got the date right on the nose and she guessed it first.
Roscue2 was closest on the amount of coins in the return. He guessed 8 but there was 13. One in the pic was found on the floor
Congrats.
I need your name and adress Ruscue2. Send it in a private message.

Thanks Mike and thank you, Steve! I haven't won any prize, myself, for a while and Thanks for the contests you have, as they are great!!! I like to be challenged to guess but usually don't guess very well! :) May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Mike, is that Canadian Quarter (Silver)? It sure looks like it! Those are a lot of coins to find in the coin machine return! Guess not many check it!! Congrats Roscoe2 for winning the # of coins guess! May God Bless! Amen! Betty

Even looking at the edge of a Canadian coin looks like silver. Actually many check them, including employees of what store they are in. people sometimes dump thousand of coins in and the reject corroded coins, silver, Canadian, and sometimes a few regular coins too. My son one time got $4.80 in one shot, mostly Canadian.

Thank you, DK, and WOW, Mike, I need to go to the stores where they have coin machines and check the return area! Ya would think more people or the store employees would check them before going home, but guess most aren't interested in corroded pennies and foreign coins like we are! Finding $4.80 is better than going :detecting: many times! I am always on the look out for coins laying on the parking lots when I do go shopping, but that isn't very often! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

What is the date on the Silver Canadian Quarter that looks as shiny as the silver dime?? They did mint silver coins in Canada, but I'm sure you know that and the last date they were minted there! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

the dates were 1996, and 1983.
Canada last made silver in 1968.

Thanks Mike, I wasn't doubting you, for I know you are wiser than me in coins, but it looked so much like the dime I was just wondring what the date was! I know that Canadian silver coins were discontinued being minted in the '60s but later than ours was! Many new quarters minted now look like silver when first looked at....but you can usually tell by the copper edges that they are clad unless on or in the ground for awhile and then we know they are definitely clad and mostly worthless! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
