2009 Clad Totals (From me and my poor old obsolete GTI 2500)

Here are my 2009 clad totals. This represents 135 hunts for 370.25 hours of total hunting. (Click on the phot to enlarge it. It is the summary of my 2009 spreadsheet. The detailed entries are rather large.)

Not included above are:

Silver coins: 50
Wheat Cents: 246
IH Cents: 1
Large Cents: 1
Old Nickels (Buffalo and before): 4

Unlike John, my totals have no chance of being added to in 2009. I can't wait to get 2010 started!

WOW!! That's some serous hunting going on in you're neck of the woods.Glad you don't live close to me.I didn't really keep track of my clad count this year but maybe I will in 2010 .I think we should take note that you're dime count is only 6.82% lower than the Copper/zinc Lincoln count.I've read on hear how some folks notch out those Lincolns.Now we all know alot of the time those cent tones turn into Dimes when we dig them.That's alot of Dimes people are missing out on.Nice Graph you made

GTI's will often ID quarters as cents until you jiggle the coil around a bit. If ya don't you can leave a lot of quarters behind.

Ha! It went to the bank on a monthly basis and this year I spent it freely. I once thought about keeping it all until the end of the year but it got to be too much clutter. I will say this. My favorite tellers no longer wait for me to ask them for empty paper coin rolls. They usually just hand me a stack.

I find a lot of other goodies on those penny notches too. When I was new, I used to skip a lot of zinc cent signals. Never again!

I'm blushing. I completely agree with what a lot of folks here say. When the operator and the detctor click, that's when the hunting gets good. It also takes loads of practice.

If you could move your arms as fast as a bee moves its wings you could probably fly also and stump the scientist. I watched their feeble attempt one time to duplicate the power of a tornado. What a joke that was. They have estimated the speed of a tornado at 300 MPH because the instrument they used only went to 300 MPH but the tornado broke it at that speed. For all those idiots know it could be 600 MPH or 900 MPH. I've been in and around a few and it takes more than 300 MPH to drive a wheat straw through a steel I beam without breaking the straw.
