2011 Year end Totals of Indian Pennies 143 total!!!!

Well at the beginning of the year I set a goal of digging 100 indians, and what can I say....I smashed that goal. I ended up with 143 total. A few are not in the total picture because they are already put into my book of dug indians. I am trying hard as possible to complete a set of indians from 100% ones I dig. Right now I need 11 more and I will have a complete dug set!!!! Not bad for 4 yrs of detecting. I dug my very first injun of 2011 on 01-01-11 and it was a semi key date 1867, not a bad way to start the year! I also included a pic of the flying eagle I dug this year. I feel it fits best with the indians and there is a section for it in my indian set. Only 2nd one I have dug in 4 yrs so they are not easy to come by!

Other than that I included some of the nicer condition indians I dug this year, some come out beautiful and others not so nice, everyone is different.

Thats a whole darn tribe...

I'm doing the same with wheat cents...I have been swinging a MXT...but on Monday I become a E-Trac owner...so I may have to set my sights on the indians! Once again great finds!

All I can say is WOW!!!! This is very impressive! I have been dtecting for about 4 months and havent come up with one indian! Alot of silver though just no indians! I could only Imagine the amount of other good coins you found! Where are you from? You must have some good sights to be pulling coins like that! What do indians read on your VDI numbers? I was using a fisher f2 and it found me alot of silver but not the older coins! I just purchased a T2 and already found 2 buffalos and a Rosie only been out twice. Cant wait until the day I pull an Idian out of the ground! Now that I got the T2 Im hoping to get down to the older coins! Congrats buddy you are an Inspiration for sure! Keep up the good work I love seeing posts like this! Gives me the motivation to step my game up!

awesome collection of indians, just awesome. :clapping:

I FINALLY found my first indian yesterday....In the ground the reading bounced around between 15-33 to 22-33. The FE number would not drop below 15 and it fairly consistently kept bouncing from 15 to 22, 15 to 22. It was an old house foundation and the tone was nice and repeatable with some depth. I was hoping that it would be an indian, and sure enough it was. (1903). It was about 4 to 5 inches deep, i didnt measure it. I think the reason why I havent found more is because Im more tuned in to tones above 40 or so, hoping for silver all the time. Out of the ground the coin was 11-33.
