22 hours worth of finds from Memorial Day Weekend.

Wow, man, that is simply AMAZING. I would die for going hunting with you (not for the good sites but in order to learn):spin:
In my town there is (was) another detectorist, but he sold me his detector...go figure... Are you reaing this, B?

James. Outstanding finds as usual. 22 hours, you had to be exhausted. If its possible, I would like to meet up with you this fall when I come to SD for pheasant hunting. PJ

Where you located Amustel? If you want to keep it private just send me a private message.

If you have old sites in your area one key thing is to always go out hunting in a positive attitude...even if you know the site is tough. Always overlap you coil swings and if possible...start in one area and work back and forth moving either left or right of the area you just hunted. Usually I will walk 20 feet or so and then turn around and move over the distance of my swing and then head back the way I just came. Usually you can see where your foot tracks are in the grass from where you just walked and you can follow these to keep a straight line going. The tighter pattern you work the more successful you may become on your outings since you will be covering maximum ground area and have better chances of running into coins and such others may have missed before.

I'm always up to meet with fellow hunters from the forum if they live relatively close by. Last fall I drove 300 miles just to meet up with Kickback and hunt with him for a day and it was well worth it since he learned a few things and had a great time hunting with someone who knows their Explorer very well and I had fun hunting new territory and enjoying the day with a fellow hunter. Anyways....I'd be up to it if you lived around this area so let me know. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt.

I've been out of town for a short while James and just got to read your post.
Congratulations on a great hunting weekend. Hunting with friends that you
don't get to hunt with very often makes it even sweeter. Enjoyed your story
and seeing the pics of your finds. Continued success on your next hunts.

Hello there fella's! Hope your getting some goodies on your outings.

PJ.....you let me know when your in the area and I will shoot down south to where you are so we can do some hunting together. Always willing to hunt with other hunters and give them advice and tips on becoming better hunters on their outings.

Gold Nuggets....thanks for the reply. Good to see your still around and hope to see some finds posted soon from you.

Great Republic.....thanks as well. I just hope the weather cooperates a bit more now so I can get some much needed hours in for work so I can go out detecting like I want to. Having a good year so far but won't be like last year. I'm just taking it easy this year for the most part and if I hit 200 Silver this year I will be more than happy with that. Thanks again for the replies and Good Luck and HH to you all.
