3 more buttons with the new Etrac

dgc

Went back to the pasture this afternoon. Summer is definitely here in the south. Got 3 more buttons. The one at the top is a tombac. One of the buttons was next to a deep null when I first located it. In fact when I pinpointed, the pinpoint location was about 6" away from where I was getting the good tones. I almost dismissed it as an iron false, but since the signal was fairly repeatable, I decided to dig anyway. The Etrac is impressing me with its ability to find non-ferrous in close proximity to iron.

I'm still being fooled by nails at times. The one in the picture really worked me over.

Nice finds dgc, how long you been using the etrac? I'm pretty new (1month) and am liking it more and more. Craig

Just got it yesterday Craig. Reading this forum, reading the Sabisch book, and watching videos of the Etrac in action before I bought it helped a lot.

Its an impressive machine in my opinion.

Thanks for the picture of the buttons. Yep, iron can give good signals at times and will also repeat from 2 directions at times. In fact I believe you can "play" with a signal long enough and be convinced to dig it and that's perfectly ok. This is how a guy learns what his machine is telling him.

Congratulations on the finds. You'll put your coil over an old coin there sooner or later and I'm looking forward to the post!!

Actually, I already have, but not with the Etrac. It will find something else though, I'm sure of that.

1808 Spanish Half Reale (scratched by my digging in hard pan soil to retrieve it) and a "1 bit" piece cut from an 8 Reale.
