30 kHz Vista Gold With Gain

The DeepTech modded Vista Gold

As requested by respected Detectorist Jethro Carpenter for his tricky mineralised soil DeepTech agreed to build this prototype/modded machine for him.
So this upgraded Vista Gold now has Gain control and also runs at 30 kHz compared to the originals 25 kHz.
Now for people that don't know what the original Vista Gold is all about it's a machine that has won a place amongst the great detectors on the market today, don't let the looks fool you as this machine has built an amazing reputation of producing the goods in the field and has built a huge fan base due to its outstanding performance.

As of yet I've just conducted a few tests with this prototype that I run all machines through before hitting the field, but what I can say is this machine has some serious power over the original Vista Gold, we are looking at 2-3 inches in air tests on tiny items and 5 inches plus on larger coin sized items what is pretty staggering for an upgraded unit, if it can even convert half of the above measurements through into the soil it will be amazing.
If so then this will for sure open up old loved fields, just think what could be an inch or three out of reach in your current fields.

The proof is in fields so early next week I will be taking both the standard and prototype out and seeing how exactly this customers requested unit runs before sending on it to him.
Keep your eyes open as this is going to be one to watch for sure.

So I had another outing with this machine today, just a run on its own to see how it performs running hot and calm, with this machine hot means hot and you have to have your wits about you but this can be very rewarding with the tiny stuff it can find.
Now even though I didn't find any tiny items of interest what I did find after rummaging in the soil was small fragments of metal what gives a great indication that this machine will be damn hot on the right sites.
It was a struggle for the probe to locate some of the items and even when it did my eyes was finding it hard to find them amongst the dirt also, I don't think this machine would have a problem finding the smallest of small coins within the top layers.
So is this machine capable of finding tiny stuff like micro jewellery? That's a yes for sure without a doubt, stud earrings and 177 airgun pellets will be a walk in the park for this machine.
I was pleasantly surprised also to get a nice clear tone on a small button/coin, not a banging signal but a signal what you would never walk over and miss unless you had severe hearing problems.
This thin little item was down the near length of the probe.
Deepest item I did find today was a Victorian Penny at around 9-10 inches with nice clean audio, so I would say this would pick items like this up at around 13 + inches what is way beyond I would say the average Detectorist finds items.
Most the items I find range between surface and 9-10 inches with good audio depending on size and what's laying next to them.
What I like about this unit is the ability to ease far off the Gain and Sensitivity and be able to run it so smooth but still have brilliant performance, or adjust both independently and search for the decent coin sized items and ignore the tiny scraps and fragments, it's like having two machines in one, on one hand you can utilise the sensitivity of the 30 kHz to find minuscule items or if you wish dull the machine down and just search for larger coin sized items.
It's a great balancing act on the controls you can achieve for sure and Vista Warrior owners will comprehend, but with this Vista Gold unit being boosted its one of the sharpest machines I've ever used, but saying that the standard Vista Gold is also an awesome finding machine but this Prototype just takes its power and control that one step further.
My first trip out the other day I compared the standard and prototype side by side over targets, even though on that day I didn't find anything with the prototype that I couldn't with the standard Gold it was the intensity in the audio on the prototype I know it will find items just out of reach of the standard Gold, I've also confirmed this in the test bed.
In soil tests I've done you are looking at an inch on larger coin sized items and around half inch more on smaller sized items, now if you know anything about detectors on the market now it's very hard for the manufacturers to find gains like this, but the CEO of DeepTech Plamen Rashkov has managed this well indeed with this unit but would you expect anything less from a man that has been producing detectors that work great since 2003.
Unfortunately I've now ran out of time to test further so this now will be sent off to Jethro Carpenter to take over the torch for the rest of the tests, he will put the machine through its paces on his tricky land what will be a good evaluation.

Are there mods for the vista sprite? How did you add the pot?

There are no mods for the Vista Sprite or any DeepTech Machine, no internal mods that is sorry, if you know what your playing with and understand metal detectors in and out then maybe gains to be had, but like with any manufacturer this would no doubt make any warranty obsolete.
If out of warranty then knock your socks off .... I’m sure Deeptech would happily rectify any problems for a price.
